Ok this is how you make a how to video, the problem, disassembly reassembly and test, clear instructions. None of that annoying music that drowns out explanations, no off conversations about cousin Jessy and his dog poontang. 👍👍👍👍👍

Just a tip, but it you take a standard bread twist tie and burn off the plastic coating with a lighter, it makes an excellent rod to use for cleaning orifices on a carb with. It is just the right size and can be used many times in the future.

Hi clean the carburetor and the main jet and blew out all the passages on my Briggs & Stratton 16 1/2 horse tractor today. It runs perfectly now. I put up with that surging for years.. A good small cleaning probe that I use in carburetors is the crop and cut off of a guitar string. This video save me from going out and buying a new tractor/lawnmower

Just fixed a surging B&S engine thanks to you! Using a bristle from a wire brush to clean all the channels was what I needed to do to get it running great. +1 subscriber!

About 6 yrs ago I bought a new riding mower. It looked just like the one in this video. I may have used it a total of 10 times. It had less than 25 hrs on it. Then someone set the house on fire. The fire got the living room an kitchen an part of the garage. About a year later I got to fooling around with the mower. All the wiring was burnt as well as the seat an steering wheel. So I got to fooling around with it, I took off all the wiring. The gas tank had melted, so I poured some gas down the carb. and jumped it off. And the thing started right up. I found another mower looked to be about the same thing, just not as in good of shape. It was all I could find at the time. Started swaping parts around and put together a half A** mower. It works but its nothing like what I had. But I am thankful for what I have. After I got the engine put onto the other mower I rebuilt the carb. changed the oil and air filters and for good measure put in a new plug. I use it last summer.

The main jet fell out of mine when I removed the pan. Wasn't positive that's where it went. I must have watched a hundred videos before I found this one. And they were no help at all. Your a life saver. Great video. Thanks

Great video, my tractor had an idle surge after sitting for a year. Rebuilt the carb and nothing really changed. After watching this video I realized the mistakes I made when I rebuilt it. Second time around after rebuild the tractor runs fantastic. Again thanks for the video.

Great video. I just replaced the carburetor with a brand new one on mine and am having this same issue. If it’s not the carb (assuming the new one is good), what should I look at? Brand new fuel and air filters too.

I like how you said everything you needed to say and nothing extra, to much conversation can confuse the whole concept! Good job sir and thank you for your time. Peace ✌️

Nice video. I heard that some people didn’t like it. If it makes you feel any better I’m am an Emmy winner with several more nominations that messes with old lawn mower engines. It’s good work. Working with engines is so relaxing.

My lawnmower 16 1/2 Briggs & Stratton gets hot and does that surging. I just can’t picture how a Stone Age design carburetor that comes on a lawnmower works. I’m going to clean my carburetor tomorrow and hope this surging thing stops. Thanks for the good video, I would never have guessed that a dirty carburetor could cause surging, I thought it was the governor doing it, we will see
