Many of you asked for a low-budget aquarium video. I’ve been waiting for a betta tank long time ago so I it was a great opportunity to combine the two. I was trying to use the most budget friendly things available but there are some parts where you should not go for the cheap. It’s kinda hard to make it cheaper really. Maybe you can collect the wood and the stones from outdoors but I trust more in the ones you can buy in aquarium specific stores.

This tank is optimal to keep a betta in it. It doesn’t like too much light and too strong flow. Since the light isn’t that strong, you should choose low-demand plants, (maybe you can ask your friends for some) Also don’t forget about the water heater, water temperature needs to be 26 degrees (C) at least.
I suggest 30% water changing in every week. The plants will need a bit of fertilizer. Also you can put snails in it, but I don’t suggest shrimps since betta eats them.

The darker soil would be better for the betta, but I could have bought only active soil that time and I didn't want it, so I chose this one. Since the light isn't strong and there are plenty shady areas in there, I hope it won't be a problem.

This is really a budget-friendly and easy aquarium, ideal for beginners and such a comfy place for the betta.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! It's sad how betta is the most mistreated fish in the entire aquarium hobby, people just dump them in bowls, jars and vases and be done with it. Bettas are a very active swimming fish, instead of a stationery floating fish which is one of the excuse why people keep them in small spaces.. Because they don't think bettas are active swimmer. They might not be as fast as neon tetras, but healthy bettas ARE, indeed, very active when kept in larger spaces instead of jars. Bettas are absolutely my favourite fish, and I REALLY appreciate that you shattered the dreaded, cursed Marina betta cube at the end, LOL!

BTW can't wait to see what kind of super lucky betta ends up in that gorgeous tank :D

Shocked by how much cheaper everything is where you live. One bunch of anubias petite goes for $13 at all five of my local fish stores... and you got all your plants for $19.

Hahaha this might have cost you 96 bucks but I have never seen a piece of Driftwood that big sold for 15. More like 45. Cool setup though!

t adds up fast! I did a cheap betta aquarium for my grandson (Topfin 3.5 gallon tank, filterbox, filter pads, lid with built-in lighting was 19.99 all in ( during Petsmart 50% off in Feb ). great buy for sure!!
BUT I'm $240.00+ out of pocket after buying male betta, bag of gravel, 2 small tank decorations, 2 fake plants, a Betta hammock, 1 large mossimo ball, 1 thermometer, 1 small tank heater, 1 bottle of dechlorination water Chem, 1 bottle of bacteria starter, betta food, a water VAC siphon, a fish net ... ( 8 or 12 gallons of cheap bottled spring water ... because it quickly became clear that our ammonia spike was due to the Betta NOT eating flakes or pellets ). and now we feed bloodworms. We crossed $300.00 when we purchased more moss-balls and 3 java ferns, 1 annubius, and 1 14.00 small piece of driftwood ... and new tank decoration because one started peeling it's paint.

What you create is brilliant. Aqua scape, which looks very good, is one thing, but video processing and background music that complete the whole thing to create a real art.
I can't wait to see more. Greetings from Poland.

Gorgeous home for a betta. I've kept them in the past in a 10g tank and tell people they need 5g or more. Love the ending. Smash it and get rid of it for betta's.

I love this style of video—simple and to the point and gives me a great step by step of how to set up a space for our betta.

Awesome video. I'm so glad that you took the time to let people know that those small tanks aren't good for Bettas!

Best part was the last message to not put your betta in such a small tank. 10/10
