I take another look at the X52 HOTAS solution with a magnet mod and tension mod. Star Citizen proved to be an epic fail, but Elite: Dangerous yielded some positives for what was (unmodded) the worst set up by far I tested in my initial round of tests last spring...

I've been using an x52 for Elite: Dangerous since release, and haven't really had any issues with it, and mine is unmodded. Getting it to work was a simple question of plugging it in and installing the drivers...Done. I've done the tension mod today though, and will see how it works as soon as I have time. Might have to try out the magnet mod as well, seeing as my warranty is long since run out.

Just wanted to say thank you. I've been agonizing over and over and over on my first HOTAS for ED. Did not want to drop nearly $200 right off the bat and was trying to convince myself it would be ok to settle for the HOTAS X. Picked up a low usage X52 for $70 shipped on the evilbays and will be modding it.
