Thank you SO much for this video! It was insanely helpful to see what an EC time commitment actually looks like, and it was also comforting to know that this student’s ECs weren’t the Noble Prize-level accomplishments that I feel like everyone on the internet says they did lol.

I have a few questions that I would very much appreciate your answers to! For a little bit about me, I am a rising senior with a hope of attending Stanford—and that’s about all I know. Seriously, I have no idea what I want to study or pursue as a career. I’ve always had high A’s in every subject in school, and while I have some sort interest in a few different courses (psychology and environmental science, to name a couple), I’m nowhere near passionate enough to want to commit my entire life to them. My ECs aren’t super focused either, as they’re just school clubs and community service. How should I theme my application with a certain major/interest if I am still unsure of what I want to study?

Also, I’m torn between whether I should apply Early Decision or Regular Decision, as I believe the ED applicant pool is smaller, which would result in a higher chance of acceptance. However, I’ve also heard that because everyone else who’s dream school is Stanford is also applying ED, it would actually be more competitive and difficult to stand out since they would likely be more impressive applicants than the RD pool. What would you suggest I do?

Thank you, was extremely helpful :) Would you say theoretically that a long term commitment at one place (e.g. internship) is more valued than shorter term commitments in various places? I'm applying for compsci and was offered a few AI internships to take part in, however I'm applying in 2024 so I will not be able to stretch them both out long term. Not sure what to do from a college admissions perspective.

Hey. I have plenty of EC but one I lack on is volunteering - I never volunteered in any organization or sum.. but one thing I did was writing nutrtional/training plans for closest people/people that know me.. also I'm doing a theatre performene and all tickets profit goes to charity. It that enough? I'm a senior and don't really know what to do. Should I volunteer for something this summer with the time I have left?

If i have a lower gpa (3.75 unweighted) due to a struggle in freshman and sophomore year but a massive improvement (all As in 13 ap courses going forward) and strong test scores and extra curriculars, will admissions reject me just off my gpa?
