How to File Taxes for Free 2023 | IRS Free File

It's the beginning of 2023, which means tax season is right around the corner. What I hate even more than paying my taxes, is having to pay to file them. We all want to know how to file taxes for free. The good news is that if you make less than $73,000 AGI (adjusted gross income) then you may be eligible to file completely free with the IRS Free File program. This includes popular tax filing programs like: TaxSlayer, Free Tax USA, TaxAct, and more! Please note that while TurboTax offered free filing in the past, they announced in July of 2021 that they would no longer be partnering with the IRS Free File Program.

I was recommended to a CPA agent that help me fix the issue in May and he help me filed for 2022. I got my taxes refund payment today through a cashier check. My broker charged me stock hard to borrow fee of $6000, I spoke to my broker and finally refund the $6000 back to my account. Now received from my broker 1099B that has the $6000 refund money as MISC income of $6000. Actually I do not have any income wort of $6000. How to resolve the issue in Turbo tax and where to enter. My broker said the Tax Pro can offset you MISC income to $0. Please let me know how to offset the MISC income. Need your advise
