While efiling federal is free, filing your state costs $25. It’s been that way as long as I can remember. What I don’t understand is to file your state tax return, you have to provide a credit card (normal) but the Intuit software requires you to reduce your computer display settings to something resembling 1984 technology. And with that I’m supposed to trust they have the latest IRS rules implemented?
