at 14:39 you wrote a 9 above the y while saying 8 which really confused me i don’t understand now

(-1-) first observation: this is a straight line; like the constant slope of a roof.

(-2-) 2nd: when X increases so does Y. But y increaes 3 times for an increase in x; this is called slope.

(-3-) when X=0, then Y=5; called the intercept this is a locating number for our line of slope 3.

(-4-) another locating point might be the x intercept where y=0.. Such that ==>
3x+5=0
3x=-5
x=-5/3
=(-1&2/3)

(-5-) ACTUALLY... and since this is a straight line... any two values for x yielding resultant y's are sufficient to define the line.

(-6-) summary.... the generic equation to learn is:
y = mx + b
where:
m: slope
b: y--intercept

AS ASIDE:
when asking question of teacher while standing next to blackboard... I made a freudian slip by asking about the "x-y" 'virgin' rather than 'origin.' The origin being where both X & Y = 0.
