THIS AUDIO INTERFACE DOES HAVE PHANTOM POWER. IN THE VIDEO, HE SAYS IT DOESNT. BUT IT DOES. LOOK IT UP FOR YOURSELF

The guitar input on the M-Audio is Mono. You would want stereo. however you could still go into it with your main out from your drums. You just wan't hear the stereo spread across the toms or cymbals. Some side of it L or R might be quieter than the other, I'm not sure. If you're on a Mac, the Line In is stereo and you could go directly into that.

Yes it will work the same, I had the same exact issue. I ended up with a Pre-amp that had Phantom power. It now goes before the interface. You should have no problems getting it working. If you do, let me know!

Hey. Nice review. I want to know : how much latency it has this interface???... thats my problem with my default sound card :/ .. the latency is not the appropiated to record "at the beat" ..

Thanks

For those discussing it, this video is showing the older version of the m-audio fast track USB interface, the brand new version II HAS phantom power for it's mic input so all is good.

Alex may be right with the cable situation, or if you have downloaded the updated drivers you wil experience bad quality because the drivers are rubbish. You aren't going to get above average sound quality out of the Fast Track USB, but if you use the ASIO4ALL Driver (search in Google) it should stop the crackling and popping sounds.

Hope this helps,

Chris.

@lilkountry884 no. this is for converting analog sound inputs (such as a guitar, mic, or mixer) to a digital form that a computer then translates and allows you to edit, enhance, ect. A USB mic does that for you. It does what this would do without the extra hardware. A USB mic should be good to go on it's own.

Hi man! Nice video, but, this is only a simple description of this product, i think would be interesting a demonstration recording at same time two different tracks. This, propably should be the main doubt of all begginers users! Thank you!

In the setting, there should be a tickbox that allows you to hear the other tracks while recording another. Let me know if it works.

@BuritoSupreme1 I just read your comment, and i was wondering how you made out? I would have suggested getting the M-Audio Fast Track Pro, or Ultra. Anyway, I hope it all worked out!

To constructively add to arktik83's comment: If you're going to zoom in on a product, do it as slow as the camera will possibly allow, and don't stop zooming unless you're changing shots, in which case you can change to a new, fixed shot. Also, use manual focus and make sure you're not too close to the object for the focusing range of the camera. If the going in and out of focus thing was supposed to be an intentional effect, it just doesn't work on handheld cameras.

I'm using M-Audio Fast Track USB almost 2 years and the performance is flawless. Just always use the latest drivers from their site ;)

@JKeyz22
3) i run this interface on an old machine, a single core 2 ghz processor and the provided asio drivers keep me around 5ms wich is plenty good enough unless you are doing really heavy live recording.
4) the reason you only hear your microphone out of one ear in your headphones is because when you are recording a single mic it is IN MONO! to hear both sides you have to find the option inside whatever software you are using to give you the ability to hear both sides.

Perfect review... I don't see why you have so many down votes for this video. You hit the important points on the item in a fast and efficient manner. Thumbs downers... If you want post production... Watch a movie.

It's not the device that is creating the latency, but rather the processor. It really all depends on you computer. What are you using?

I have a Mac and the M-Audio Fast- track and I hear ZERO latency.

Hey cool review, but might I suggest a little less zooming in and out and less blur? Other than that I liked it :)
