Madden 25 Review - Honest Impressions Before You Buy

An Honest Review of Madden 25 on PS5. I take a deep dive into EA's new football game not titled College Football 25 and raise the question: is it worth buying? Did Madden 25 improve enough from Madden 24 to warrant a purchase? Can it compete with CFB25? Or did EA come up short again...

Madden 25 and the Madden franchise at large are a case study of what happens when a series of games tied to a particular sport has virtually no competition. For years, Madden has been skirting by on there basically being no available alternative. That's no longer the case since EA released College Football 25 earlier this summer. Madden's shortcomings have grown all the more noticeable and intolerable in this year's entry in the wake of that sister game's release. Not only does Madden 25 feels like a step backward even when compared to last year's Madden 24. When compared to last year's entry and the vastly superior College Football 25, Madden 25 feels hollow, soulless, and uninspired, and I would hardly recommend it to anyone.

EA Sports Madden NFL 25 is available on PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on August 16, 2024.

I always wondered why there couldn't be a GM role in franchise instead of being a coach or owner. I usually just play on owner mode to act as the GM because I enjoy managing the financials and hiring my own coaching staff. The fact that doing so in Madden 25 would kill the new storylines is a huge bummer to me. Madden can never get it right, smh.

Dude Kate Scott sounds bad!! I seriously believe these developers don’t play the final game. There’s no way they would truly believe it was smart putting out this product . 2.5/10 for me

I like how, instead of adding player models, they just added headbands to half of them. Which looks totally ridiculous. Also, when you edit a QBs throwing motion, it no longer shows you an animation, so you can see what it looks like. It's a pick one, and hope it doesn't look stupid

Only way I'm getting this game is on a good discount. I'm fine with college football. I've read others say that the players don't play to their ratings as well as college football does.

I started an Alabama dynasty just to see how much better I could make them. I have an o-line with everyone 90 plus rating other than the LT that is an 87. They absolutely dominate d lines. The same thing if you have very good players on the d line, they'll stand out. But I feel like it's every position.

I can't remember the last time I bought a Madden, it's been some years but the same crap every year got tiresome for me.

Yes both college and Madden are made by EA but different teams. I feel like the dev team on college really put more love into the game. I believe they had guys from college football revamped as well

I would like an NFL game from 2k because competition pushes everyone to put out a better product, but unfortunately we don't have that.

What's funny is, 2k could just re release nfl2k5 with 4k visual upgrades n roster updates and it would sell so fast n kill madden in about 2months

madden will be 🗑 as long as they keep using this frostbite engine🗑 nba live=failure/ fifa=fail lost exclusive liscense / ncaa25 🗑 which is better then madden but has the same glitches and unrealistic movement. this all stems from the frostbite engine that was made for fps shooting games in the first place. I swear easports gets away with murder every year off of copy and paste with a couple added animations every year🗑🤣😩 I give madden 25 a 3.5/10 ncaa football 5.5/10

EA is a copy and paste for Madden over a decade. The NFL license needs to share for other publishers and devs. Wait for sale patches and demand better from EA.
