When can I sit on my butt after a BBL?

Definitely one of the top questions for BBL surgery! In my experience it is not an issue. You can sit, sleep on your back, lay on your sides the day of if you wish. It does not change the outcomes. I perform this frequently with tummy tuck surgery, and I assure you that there is no difference in outcomes. It takes sitting or laying on a really hard surface for hours before you would change the shape. As long as you are on something soft, it will be fine. I even give you a booty pillow to make you feel better about it!

I am 3 days post op, the time is 3am and I am feeling sorry myself. The idea of sleeping on my stomach and not sitting for weeks/months is depressing. I started to regret having the surgery, but then I stumbled across your video and I feel so much better. I’m writing this comment as I lay on my side and I am infinitely more comfortable. Tonight I will sleep! I will start laying on my back as my confidence grows. I am eternally grateful that you took the time to record this video, Dr. Morales. You are saving so many people from a miserable recovery.

Dr Morales is 100% correct. I watched this video before my BBL, which I had 9 months ago. I sat right after my BBL using a boppy pillow (for comfort), and my BBL results have stayed the same throughout my recovery. I haven’t lost any volume or shape. I slept on my back and on my side, again using a pillow under my back and legs just for comfort. I drove in my car 3 days after surgery, I sat to eat, to work… again no problems. His advice is correct.

I love doctors with KNOWLEDGE. Doctors who don’t follow the mass but tell you what/how to do from science. Great info!!

OMG this was meant for me to watch. I'm 9 days post op and I've been miserable trying to avoid sitting on my butt and trying to sleep on my stomach has been torture to the point I was so close to regretting getting this done when I've been wanting to su this for years. Of course you hear and you're told the longer you do without sitting the better the results and I'm like let me at least make it to 2 weeks but I'm great that it's been told by a doc to go ahead and sit

After my procedure I spoke with Dr. Morales about sitting because I had no choice due to a family emergency. To date my butt is fine.

So glad I found this video to confirm what my own doctor has told me. It’s not very common to hear this perspective from doctors in the US. My doctor is very casual about the BBL fat transfer and pretty much gave me no rules in that regard. Having a BA/BL in combo makes it hard to sleep any way but elevated and on my butt. Been using a boppy pillow while I sleep but have been starting to stress more that I’m ruining my results when listening to almost any other doctor than my own. So crazy how much difference of opinion there is between doctors. It’s really causes patients lots of anxiety when opinions vary so widely amongst practitioners…

I'm 4 days post. The doctor put fat not where I wanted it in my lower hip close to my thigh and instead in the upper hip where I did NOT want it. When I reached out about the area I wanted noy filled in they said it was too early to see my final results and that I was just very swollen and I needed to let it heal. That was a couple weeks ago. I hated the way my body looked so I decided to lay on my hips to "kill the fat" that was transfered and I can honestly say that the only difference that happened is that the area softened faster but the fat was not dissolved. My hips are still huge 😪 I also started sitting on hard surfaces about a week ago. Leaning forward because I don't feel any pressure on my butt anymore, it feels like I'm sitting on my bbl pillow. I wont sit on soft surfaces because that would put pressure all over my butt and it still hurts to the touch with minor pressure so I will avoid sofr surfaces or laying on it until it fully heals.

Just saying, I think this doc is correct because I put it to the test.

Omg Dr. Morales from when I woke up at like 3 something this morning I could not stop watching your videos prior to watching other videos. I am today one in recovery from lipo 360 BBL and is so miserable laying on my stomach. You are right every Doc got their recommendations but it make so much sense and science that if your going to be sitting 🪑 on hard surfaces for a long period of time then that would make a difference. And I agree a soft surface or using a soft pillow of some sort for comfort would not change the outcome of your results. So Dr. Morales thank you for bringing the light back into my life because she is laying on her back and getting a week worth of well needed 😴 Thank you 🙏

So glad I found this video! My Dr. told me 6 weeks & I had no idea how I was going to do that given I was only able to take off 3 weeks from work & I have a 10 hr. day desk job. At 2 weeks 3 days post-op on Christmas I thoughtlessly sat on a sofa at a friend's house, my husband wasn't paying attention but when he saw me he yelled 'Stand up!' He doesn't know how long I was sitting but it was probably a few minutes at best. I've been freaked out ever since until seeing this video. It makes sense because I have Googled & Googled this & haven't found one instance where anyone said sitting prematurely ruined their results. When I return to work I'll sit for a few minutes an hour & get up and walk around (yes it'll make me feel better!) but I appreciate that I don't have to worry that I may have messed it up, thanks!

Thank you for this video!! I’m often amazed at the number of doctors that recommend patients do NOT sit on their butts. It just doesn’t make sense.

Thank god I found this video. My dr said 2 weeks and then sit on BBL pillow. Sleep has been a nightmare. I fractured my L5 a year ago and sleeping on my stomach is extremely painful no matter how much I offload. I have the big body/pregnancy pillow that I am sleeping on my side with and I feel so much better now.

I’m 3 weeks post op, My Dr and nurses told me I should sleep on my back from day 1.. I did ask about sleeping on stomach and they didn’t recommend it saying it might cause complications. So I slept on my back with some pillows on my back and legs for support. I tried sleeping on my stomach but it was so uncomfortable and swollen and feel stiff and bruised. I couldn’t do it. So I continued to sleep like how the Dr told me and I’m way more comfortable. So 3 weeks now and my waist is so snatched and my booty shrunk a little but the fat and cute shape is still there.. listen to your body, do whatever it takes to make yourself comfortable. hope everyone is healing nicely :)

I'm 2 days post op and I had a mini tummy tuck. Laying on my back is the only thing I can do. So glad I found this video

I’m 3 weeks post & was sitting & laying on my buttocks the very first day.
But I had a memory foam cushion.
I had facial surgery the same time so laying on my buttocks was a must.
I was also up & walking slowly the same day of my surgery.
Plus I took a long international flight home. 2 weeks later. In business class for sure.
The hardest part for me is wearing the garments 24/7.
For weeks afterwards.
Get spares.
Good video Dr.
