This reminds me of the beginning of Scarlet and Violet’s lifespan when people discovered the battling RNG was bugged and was the same every time, and people abused this by knowing exactly which attack number the OHKO moves needed to be used to be a guaranteed hit

Emerald is the only game that i spent hours duping multiple master balls using the battle frontier cloning method then sending these cloned pokemon to platinum

The reason this happened is because Game Freak commented out the code for generating an RNG seed based on the cartridge's internal clock for FireRed and LeafGreen since they don't have a clock, but forgot to uncomment it for Emerald. Also, Scarlet and Violet originally always used the same RNG seed for all multiplayer battles, but this was patched.

Pokerogue is even worse in that regard, if you have the restart option enabled and you restart a battle then everything will have the exact same predetermined reaction.

Oh, wait until you realize that having a dead battery locks half of the seed in place, therefor forever dooming that cartidge to either high or low numbers depending on when the day cycle was last with a charge in the battery.

My young ass who played with Save & Load State on emulators realized this at a very young age. When I was playing from 1st to 3rd gen and I wanted to catch a Pokemon, I just had to save before throwing the Pokeball and if the Pokemon wasn't caught, I just had to load and throw the Pokeball again until it worked, that little trick didn't work in the following generations.

(I mean, I still use emulators to play those games, but I don't abuse the Save & Load tool.)

Also, I'd like to add that to my knowledge, if you're only looking at IVs, you don't need to check your SID, because only shinies depend on it. So it isn't as complicated to get good IVs

This might have something to do with why we haven’t seen Pokémon on Nintendo Switch Online, if I’m being perfectly honest. The Rewind feature would either have to be disabled or removed entirely, since it would completely break this game wide open.

Emerald has glitches in the game. But it also glitched real life with a used copy being triple the price of ruby or sapphire.
