RAM Won't Run XMP Advertised Speed? WATCH THIS!

If you own an Intel 13th or 14th Gen CPU and have been having trouble getting your RAM to run at it's advertised speed using XMP Profiles, this video is for you!

I can't guarantee this will work for everyone, but for me it took me from being limited to 5600MHz all the way up to the advertised 6400MHz my RAM was rated for, and at far lower voltages than in the profile.

WILL!!!! DUDE!! You are a life saver.. this 100% worked for me. I was having all sorts of crashing issues. Now i can run xmp tweaked with 7200 ram stable. I just ran an iracing rain race, worked great! Thanks brother :)

Im glad you're dabbing into this stuff!
I have a 7800x3d and 6000mhz expo ram, and I have to run it at 5600mhz (maybe because I also undervolt, and that also effects the memory controller).
I found without an undervolt, its fine at 6000mhz. And at 5600mhz, its fine with an undervolt.

For me, I'd rather a cooler cpu, than a couple of extra FPS

Epic video and great tips !!
Xmp tweaked worked great for a z690 hero / 14900k with 7200 but some games I had to run 7000.

I'm convinced that XMP enabled contributed to my pc startup/failure to post issues

Can we get a video for 12th Gen? This could be a fix to my PC not showing display with 2 RAM sticks.

Good day, please can you just answer this question, I want to overclock my ram and when I tried xmp 1 or 2 it didn't work, it kept crashing, so I decided on xmp tweaked and since then everything has been working fine, I'm wondering if I can leave it like that and continue using that profile, the components are asus z890 hero, ram is G skill trident z5 royal ddr5-8400 24gb x 2, thanks in advance

Will, thanks for this video. This “hack” if you will, works especially well for folks that have had constant CTD’s with MSFS 2020/2024. As most PC gamers have some sort of overclock going on with their rigs, MSFS has been very sensitive to CTD’s with no specific faulting module listed. With this change, at least on my machine, I’ve thrown everything at it including the proverbial kitchen sink and I just couldn’t break it any further. The voltage setting of 1.12000 is very good. Thanks again.

Great video brother, but how do we check if our RAM is actually running at 6400mhz after changing the settings.

Is there a specific tool to test out system instability caused by that? I have some random application crashes, but it is hatd to evaluate if this is the cause or if this improves anything. Is there a load test for especially this function?

Hi Will, could you maybe do a reciew of the Simulaje Jeff GP or the Baruk GP? Im looking at buying either one. I honestly love the look of the Jeff GP, but i think the Baruk might be more comfortable.

I have e the intel i9-14900k, 4 sticks of corsair ddr5 ram ddr5 8000mhz total of 96gb. I have not yet overclocked either how should I go about overclocking? I also have the asus rog maximus z790 dark hero motherboard and the astral 5090 oc

At the moment you better off with an AMD X3D-CPU for gaming.

How is this done on a ASRock nova wifi

For me XMP default profiles have never worked. My solution is setting everything to AUTO and then manually changing my DRAM to 6000mt/s (my max speed) in AI tweaker.
For some reason this works when nothing does and I have seen very few negatives to doing this.

Task manager confirms 6000 mt/s with no other settings changed.
(i5 13600k, 32 GB dual channel corsair 6000 mt/s RAM)

Edit: Only worked after installing Icue for my fans which is super weird because Icue can also control Corsair Ram kits? Really bizarre feature and I will never use corsair RAM again after this kit.

What would the system agent voltage be if using a 10900k?

You know you have one of the SA Bug affected chips if your pc "freezes" at higher VCCSA voltages like say 1.25 for example.

Is this possibly 13th/14th gen microcode degradation issue as opposed to ram?
I've never had BSOD with my 13900k but recently been getting BSOD, can't help but feel my issue and perhaps yours might be related? Just guessing.
