In hindsight though it wasn't talent that was the issue. It was money and family. He had never had money and his large family came along for the ride. That distraction was huge and impacted his ability to learn and function properly in a professional environment. His issues actually taught the organization a lot about player evaluation.

Iirc, Aaron admitted in an interview that his motivation was to be able to take care of his mom, and once he signed that contract and got his money, he lost his drive. Then when he got to Oakland his knees were done regardless of how motivated he was.

I HATED that pick as a Seahawks fan. Seattle was garbage, but the ONLY position on the team we were set at was linebacker. We had Lofa Tatupu, Julian Peterson, and Leroy Hill. They traded Peterson to the Lions for peanuts to make space for Curry, and the position got worse. F Tim Ruskell and Jim Mora Jr.
