I keep watching this to get it ingrained in my brain. My favorite part is watching you stare at the camera during the 7 spins, and it still comes out even. That’s the sign of a man who’s been practicing what he’s preaching! 😎👊

This is my confidence knot. It's a modified San Diego Jam knot, and I've been using it for years. When using on smaller diameter lines, use more wraps & cinch the tag end and then the main line again before trimming. Very good tensile strength knot that also works well when attaching leader material to main line. I've retrieved many a broken off snag that still had the knot intact!

Subbed literally for the fact I’ve been trying to tie knots for 5 days on 8lb line and they break on my test everytime. This knot HELD! My man!!

Jimmy Houston knot or pitzen knot, it's a great knot! One of the three I frequently use!

This is the only knot I have ever used my whole life. My dad taught it to me when I was a kid. It has never failed me. And exactly in my dad's words, "your line will break before this knot will."

For anyone wondering… the reason you lick the line is so that the friction from tightening the knot doesn’t break it.

Use that all the time, great knot. It's a version of the noose knot with more wraps so it's known as the hangman knot

Besides a Palomar knot I do two versions almost identical.
1. Run the tag end through the eye twice creating a small loop. Run the tag over 5-7 times on the main line and back through the loop.
2 is identical but I Run the tag through 3 times creating two loops.
Either is fine and almost always breaks the mainline. I've used both for 8" Swimbaits, jigs, frogs etc. Works fine.

I actually started tying my knots this exact way after seeing you do it in one of your videos...

I would call that a reverse Clinch Knot. Same concept as the Clinch Knot but the loop is at the top allowing you to swing the bait around the tag end, as opposed to having to twirl the tag end around the main line. Much faster. I'm going to give this a try. Thanks man!

That was so smooth and the thundercat in the background made it even smoother

I never thought of that. I'm going to try it on some jigs I'm working on gaining confidence with. I have always hated jigs but giving them a go. So I'll try this out on them!

This knot was developed on Toledo bend in the seventies to support a nonsench loop ( if you pull the tag end at the same as the main line)
It leaves a small loop just before the lure eye.. trying to prevent bind on lure eye.. on a swimbait called the rogue that was also developed on Toledo bend., ... Will not work on braided monofilament only..

This was the knot my dad taught me. Except he would tell me to never go over 3 spins but I'm hard headed.

After the 7 wraps If you put it through the bottom loop and then the top it ends up being even better🎣🎣
