Creedence Clearwater Revival - Have You Ever Seen The Rain

#CCR Creedence Clearwater Revival is undeniably one of the greatest rock bands of all time, with an instantly recognizable, raw, bayou sound, popularized in songs like "Proud Mary" and "Green River”. Since their formation in the 1960s, CCR has sold over 50 million records, while their songs remain in heavy rotation on the radio.

Though the band only released 7 studio albums in their too-short career, Creedence had an astonishing track record: eight consecutive gold singles ("Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend," "Lookin' Out My Back Door," "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?") and eight consecutive gold albums. With music that sounds as fresh and compelling today as it did 30 years ago, CCR is one of a handful of bands whose entire body of work has attained true "classic" status.

For whatever reason this song reminds me of my dad. He donated his body to science so all we had was a memorial service when he passed away. It rained cats and dogs but after the service was the prettiest sunshine I’ve ever seen. It’s been 14 years and I still miss him tremendously.

I saw Springsteen 1980 - after two encores - he walked out on stage with an acoustic guitar and said ....ok one more song and then you all have to go home ... and he played this song - have you ever seen the rain -

My grandmother grew up in a poor country and english songs were rare to come on the radio. This was one of her favorites when she was younger. As years passed, she had forgotten the lyrics but she asked me if I could search this song up. After searching the entire internet, I was finally able to find this song. Seeing her listen to this song again must've gave her a lot of nostalgia. She passed away in 2020.

The only bad thing about this song is it's not 10 minutes longer. So beautiful! What a decade for music.

The song I chose for my father's funeral. It was one of his favorite songs. The funny thing is, I hear this song everywhere in different versions. It always makes me think if my Dad is trying to let me know he's with me. It makes me sad and happy at the same time. ❤

Got raised on this kind of music from birth pretty much. I'm an almost 24 dumbass now, dealing with grown folk issues and seeing out a community service sentence. I had to walk somewhere and it started raining. In more or less broad daylight. Something about listening to this, while I was in a bad mood.. Made me smile. Like god himself saw my intent, saw my inner turmoil, and gave me a gentle nudge in the right direction, to calm me down. As if he was telling me it'll be ok. Walking through the rain, listening to it patter against my hat, and the ground... Was something else. The smallest things, can put just the right amount of life into anyone's day. For all my fellow young men and women, those of us just trying to make it another day, to live your life.. I see you, friend. I think you got this.

That organ starting in the second verse adds so much to this song. What a great producer John is!!!
