Creedence Clearwater Revival - Who'll Stop The Rain

#CCR Creedence Clearwater Revival is undeniably one of the greatest rock bands of all time, with an instantly recognizable, raw, bayou sound, popularized in songs like "Proud Mary" and "Green River”. Since their formation in the 1960s, CCR has sold over 50 million records, while their songs remain in heavy rotation on the radio.

Though the band only released 7 studio albums in their too-short career, Creedence had an astonishing track record: eight consecutive gold singles ("Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend," "Lookin' Out My Back Door," "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?") and eight consecutive gold albums. With music that sounds as fresh and compelling today as it did 30 years ago, CCR is one of a handful of bands whose entire body of work has attained true "classic" status.

I still say my generation had the best music ever. All their songs never get old.

Another one of my father's favorite songs. He passed away on the 4th of July listening to John Fogerty in the hospice center. What a great song from a great band. R.I.P DAD

When music meant something,
God, I miss this.

Every time I listen to this song I can't help but think of my father. It brings tears to my eyes. Hold your family close; they won't be around forever.

Thank you Daddy. You never told me to turn CCR down when I was blasting this song. You loved this band. Happy Father's day in heaven.

I turn 18 years old in June, my dad plays guitar and my whole child was pretty much classics like this. For the folks worrying about this music dying, don’t worry, my generation still has some hope.

I really love the part where John Fogerty sings: "Good men through the ages." You could feel the intensity & sadness in Fogerty's voice.

I saw these guys in concert in Houston in 1969. They ran in and did an entire show without a break, then ran out, never saying a word to the audience. But they were great.

I was overseas 66-68 and when I got home Creedence owned it. The songs 60 years have passed and still know the songs.

Long as I remember,
The rain been comin' down.
Clouds of myst'ry pourin'
Confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages
Tryin' to find the sun.
And I wonder,
Still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virginia,
Seekin' shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable,
I watched the tower grow.
Five-year plans and new deals
Wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder,
Still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin',
How we cheered for more?
The crowd had rushed together
Tryin' to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin',
Fallin' on my ears.
And I wonder,
Still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain.

So I'm 28 now and just getting into this good old rock music. I'm glad to do so.
Grown up with rap, went through almost every other genre, spent some time on parties, enjoying electronic music and now I'm here.
I think this is gonna accompany me for a while.

I'm just coming up to my 70th birthday. When I was 17/18, me and my mates would meet every Saturday morning at 11.0am (UK time--- Pub opening time) at our local pub. One of us would order a round of drinks and the rest would go and feed money into the juke box to play this song and "have you ever seen the rain". This would go on for quite some time until someone (not us) would complain. We just thought they where the two best songs at the time. I don't think any of us realized the significance of the lyrics. It was quite some time later that I became aware of the significance. I still play these songs often. Not only because of the significance to their meaning but I really like them. Two of the best songs of the era.

I love CCR music because you can clearly hear the guitar strumming finesse in the background
