Other than omega 3’s, having turmeric daily and some blueberries (with my meal) . Plus taking a magnesium tablet an hour before bed really helps me recover quickly

I have been running since 7 years what really helps me from soreness is a good sleep, stretchings, magnesium glycinate, vitamin d3, vitamin b complex & vitamin c

I love that you mentioned making the journey enjoyable not just the finish line. I like to work out but not when it makes me feel so tired that I hate my life. 😭

I started riding my exercise bike a couple years ago i now ride 30 miles in the morning and 30 miles later in the day not thinking im actually building stamina but feeling good. This week i woke up one day motivated to see if i can run to the store and back well i made it and I did it again a total of three times I ran a half marathon by mistake my legs are so stiff and swollen but overall good I cant wait to run again what an amazing feeling I never thought I would run again with my back injuries from an old car accident but im so freaking happy. Im just watching videos for knowledge to avoid injuries. Thanks for information much appreciated.

I tried getting a massage. It worked! Now the DOMS is gone, and I’m broke.

wouldnt foam rolling be some kind of massage?
Oh, you talked about that in the end.

Rest is all that's required. Massage, ice baths, and compression are gimmicks. Besides even if inflammation is effectively reduced it will diminish adaptations.

Question concerning foam rolling. Do you have a piece of research on the effectiveness or lack of effectiveness of this form of therapy?

I ran 28 out of 30 days last month. Almost no soreness because i never over did it (3-6 miles/day).

I red lined a five mile run yesterday and my legs are toast.

I will say it’s definitely not the lying down portion of recovery boots that helps. I can lay in bed for those 30min or the next 5 hours and I’d get up aching. The boots are basically a form of massage. Can esp tell the difference if you’re riddled with knots like myself. It never quite “hits the spot” but you sure as hell feel better after it squeezes you for 30min+
