Nobody seems to be mentioning another liquid metal which is an alloy of two reactive alkali metals called NaK (sodium-potassium) which is highly reactive towards water!

You should try the singing crystal experiment, make some gallium crystals then out them in how water and you will here screeching as the Crystal structure breaks down.

Tom! How/what do you store your mildly radioactive stuff in? I'm asking because I'd like to get into collecting radioactive stuff but I'm having troubles finding proper shielding for stuff like tritium and orange Fiestaware.

To answer your question:

Wood's metal is an alloy comprised of: bismuth, lead, tin, and cadmium
Field's metal is an alloy comprised of: bismuth, indium, and tin

Wood's metal is definitely the one to avoid, as it has both lead and cadmium. Field's metal is much safer as bismuth, indium, and tin are all pretty nontoxic. Galinstan is another good one, made of gallium, indium, and tin. It is both safe to play with, and is liquid at room temperature.

I love gallium except for the fact that it oxidizes very quickly to this really ugly gray and black crust.

6 kg of galinstan and 10 kg of gallium. An entire laboratory.
other person: It's so heavy. Metal so hheavvvy..
Me: Do you even lift?!
XD hahahaha! It's funny. It's funny because it's heavy even though it's a tiny volume of metal(barely a few liters).
