To be clear, gallium doesn't "eat through" aluminum per se. It actually reacts with the aluminum making a material that apparently doesn't hold up to stress very well. The amount of liquid gallium you have should have been depleted by a certain amount.

Anyone wondering why gallium eats thru aluminum, it's because a chemical process of Amalgamation, which in basic terms, gallium incorporates the aluminum in their chemistry, leaving the aluminum with the brittle structure of gallium

Be careful NOT to use a lighter around that experiment because it releases flammable gas!! I saw someone experiment with Gallium in a channel called ( the action lab ).. check it out.
