dude, SotE is truly overshadowing everything else... to the point where other games schedule their release dates to not be in competition with it. Next thing for FromSoft... vacation, no doubt.

If you’re ever feeling sad… just remember that out of the millions of years of existence…

You managed to exists at the exact time the Miyazaki made us souls games <3

More abstract than Elden Ring is making lore theorists shiver in their boots.

Miyazaki directing what he called a "hobby" project/game with the backing of FromSoft featuring "ideas & images that wouldn't fit in [Elden Ring/DarkSouls] format" is something I am incredibly interested in...

Can't imagine what kind of wild shit he has going on in his head outside of Dark/High Fantasy

Bloodborne 2 will probably forever remain... a Hunter's dream.

I agree with miyazaki. He needs to have more directors that are capable at fromsoft. We will have MORE games and this will ensure the studio doesnt fall off a cliff when he retires

It feels heartwarming hearing miyazaki say that he will create games as more of a hobby.
This makes me excited for more of his projects.
Excited for all things fromsoft in general!

This is the million dollar question I keep asking myself every day. What is next after Elden Ring

Very excited to see more games by Masaru Yamamura. He is one of the people who designed Bloodborne fast-paced combat (they even have an NPC in Bloodborne DLC named after him), DS3 weapon skills, Sekiro posture-parry mechanic and the director and lead gameplay designer of Armored Core 6. The guy is a legend already at such an age and the reason he isn't called as one is because he is being overshadowed by Miyazaki. But with him taking the rein as one of the directors I expect a lot from him in the future.

I have such mad respect for Miyazaki. He’s one of the very few “famous” people I actually care about and definitely the only one related to gaming.

Fromsoft are the GOATS I can’t wait for future projects after SOTE

I really hope we have a Kuon-style game on the horizon. I absolutely adore FromSoft's attempts at survival horror, and a modern spiritual successor to Kuon would be incredible.

Miyazaki has high hopes for us: that we continue to struggle unto eternity.

The complete lack of any leaks in recent months has been an absolute bliss, because I believe that it’s the first time in a while that we’ve been this much in the dark about what FromSoft is going to do next.

With that in mind, I think the only thing that I have any confidence in saying we’ll see more of in the future, at least in terms of IP, is Armored Core. Apart from the fact that it has been the most successful entry in the series yet, Miyazaki himself has stated that there is a “a strong will to continue it in the future” and that he personally deemed it a success. Obviously they haven’t really said anything concrete, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we did see more AC in the future.

Completely agree on the Sekiro, if not a sequel, I’d love to see something follow in its footsteps in terms of action and refinement.

As to what new stuff they could make, it’s completely up in the air, but if you put a gun to my head and ask me for a specific “dream girl” per say, my answer is simple, Mecha Fantasy. Be it Armored Souls or Dark Core or whatever you wanna call it, I want a full on Souls game with a mecha element to it, and the thing is, I believe Miyazaki kind of wants that as well.

Back in the days of DS3, Miyazaki went on an interview saying that he would love to make a game that evoked the same feelings as Aura Battler Dunbine and Visions of Escaflowne, and if you know anything about those 2 shows, you know where this is going. Hell, he even name drops Frame Gride, an old FromSoft Dreamcast game that was basically Medieval Armored Core with a focus on Arena Combat. Mind you, this is an old interview, but given how AC rose from the grave, I doubt it still isn’t a glint in Miyazaki’s eye at least.

Edit: I meant “dream game” lol

Elden Ring was my first fromsoft game, they have impressed me so much I immediately pre ordered the DLC. They have earned a lot of good faith with me, unlike other game developers which are going rapidly in the other direction.

In another recent interview Miyazaki said they’re far from done with Armored Core. And there’s that rumored magic battle game. I wouldn’t rule out an eventual sequel to Sekiro either

Here in the Souls community, we like to think Miyazaki is a god whose wisdom and power knows no bounds. But it's good to be reminded sometimes that he's just a human and has limits. And he himself admits that.
It's great that he wants to give the other directors freedom to work on their own projects. A lot of creators, when trusted so fully by so many people, get lost in their own ego and start to act all high and mighty. It speaks volumes of Miyazaki's character that he has remained so humble even after so many successes. The industry needs more people like him.

Miyazaki is too good for this industry. Literal genius, great director, great leader and very humble. Bro even if you make rock paper scissors game, people will buy it.

I genuinely hope that “Spellbound” rumor that was floating around a while back is real. I would love a mage type game from FromSoft

A more "abstract" fantasy game from miyazaki sounds delicious
