Who's looking forward to the Pixel 7a? Here's everything that we know!

I'm so ready for 7a, after holding 3a for 4 years, I think it's time now.

Honestly, I'd love to see a pixel 8 ultra 🔥. And I think that the specs of the pixel 7a seems too good to be true, I mean it's going to make the pixel 7, 7 pro and 8 a bad deal

Hoping Pixel 7a will be available here in the Philippines. It is just a struggle finding Pixel devices here.

IMX787 is the custom 64mp sensor/16mp binned currently used by Nubia/ZTE flagship phones, and it's not 1/1.3. It's a smaller 1/1.7 sensor size with an even smaller 0.8 micron pixels, so it doesn't even compare to the GN1 on P6/P7 series. However, ZTE uses the IMX787 with a 35mm lens, which is arguably the best lens setup for taking pictures of people. So, it would be really interesting if Google ends up using this sensor/lens

4:02 Doesn’t make sense, I think it is more likely 7a will get the old 50MP sensor instead, and Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are the ones that gonna jump to IMX 787 instead.

I definitely don't like the idea of them getting more expensive, but kind of moving the current line up down in essence and creating a new Ultra model with ultra tier hardware would be awesome. A 1" sensor, periscope telephoto and super fast charging could justify a price tag rivaling the Galaxy Ultra

Not everyone wants a huge screen or needs 90Hz refresh or needs a superfast smartphone. In fact, that is not what I want.

I want a smaller screen, something topping out at maybe 5-5.5 inches. I want it water-resistant (I live near Seattle, we get rain), I like slightly wide bezels, keeps me from accidentally touching the active screen just holding the unit. High speed charging via USB C and slow overnight wireless charging is just fine. I'll even let 'em make the phone a few mm thicker to fit in a good user-replaceable two-day battery (and a phone easier to hang on to).

Not everyone wants or needs a super-fast, ultra-powerful, paper thin phone the size of a tablet and costing $1000+. Some of us want a solid, serviceable phone that will withstand normal weather and fit in a pocket. THAT is what I want a Pixel *a to be.

Why do I even want to replace my current Pixel 3a that works just fine? Because it no longer receives OS and security updates. ☹

I think the deciding factor to buy pixel 7a is the smaller size... Currently, I'm still using Pixel 4 which is a small device, maybe this is the time I'm gonna upgrade. Y not 6a?
Coz I'm already addicted to 90hz RR...

I believe the best thing for Google to do would really be reconsider their lineup and give some good camera and performance updates to the Pixel 8, leaving the Pixel 7a as a entry level phone, and by so leaving the costumers welling to give that higher jump straight to the 8 (or the 8 pro in the case of a lineup reconsideration). So that the Pixel 7a would still be a good phone with a G2 PRO chip and a camera of the 7, while the 8s would be better by having a whole new and improved camera and a new G3 chip

Can't wait for a comparison between Nothing Phone 2 vs Pixel 7a.

For the pixel 8, they'll have to make the tensor G3 much more capable than the G2, and also give 120hz in the 8 to make the difference consistent between the 7a and the 8

I just got 6a and I am so satisfied. Probably the best purchase I have ever made.

8-128 LPDDR5-UFS3.1
Face Unlock
Thermal Controls
90Hz Display

This is my expectation for 7A.

If the regular 8 is rumoured to have 120hz I'll wait for it, otherwise I'd still get the regular 7 because for me 18w charging and 5w wireless charging is just too slow in 2023.

I just got my 6a last week and I have no regrets

Am I missing something here? If the pixel 7 is $450 right now why would anyone wait for the pixel 7a to launch and buy that for $450?

dude why would you ever make a point towards changing the perfectly understandable and simple approach that google takes towards naming their phones? it's absolutely perfect.
