This is 1000% accurate. This is the experience of everyone, but of course especially if you are new to the game of stocks.

The only way to prevent this is to buy in on the dips. And you do that by being early. What he did as most know is called FOMO (fear of missing out). Then you have the words like HOODL and diamond-hands. HOODL means to hold the stock, and diamonhands means you keep it until it goes up again, which is the second mistake beginners make. So the first one is being to late. Either you have to gamble on the premarket to catch that initial swing, or you have to wait for the first 10-15% of the day to successfully fall back. The more you zoom in however the riskier it becomes.

The second, if you find yourself buying on the top, you are going to have to wait it out until it comes back up again. You can even buy at the new dip if you have liquidity to even the score, unless you are fearful it will end up in solvency for the company, but that very unlikely. Just look at the history zoomed out and you realise the highs and lows and where it is moving typically, and also how long predictably it might take for it to go back up again.

That being said, I have done all of the super stupid mistakes myself and lost 2 grand on the GME the day before yesterday, because I was stupid enough to sell on the absolute low after the market became manipulated.
