When we were given our chairs, guess who got which? The guy who could get a solo in 20 minutes got 12th, the other guy got 2nd. Take your time practicing guys, it’s really worth it!

A girl named Megan Helton used to copy me through the walls of our practice rooms at JSU. I distinctly remember one piece that our music teacher had assigned us that focused largely on scales at a slower tempo, and I deliberately practiced the piece at double the tempo because the slower tempo was boring. Anyway, yeah... I remember hearing her copying my tempo through the walls and then magically when I had my lesson, our teacher Mr. Brandon commented that she had also played the piece double tempo in her lesson. 🙄 They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I wasn't impressed.
