I’ve done the reset and it still constantly reboots. Ever since a firmware update two weeks ago, it’s at least 5 times a day. Thanks Sony.

Thank you! It worked for my Thomson with Android TV. It seemed that it had a virus, no video was properly played but now it works completely fine!

Hello, My XBR-65X850C shows only the SONY logo when I turn on the tv. Pushing the buttons for a hard rest does nothing. Any advice will be helpful. As I am sharing my Sony experience with my subscribers to help them overcome the same problem. If they ever encounter. Thank you

i have XBR65A9G and did a force factory reset where you press and hold power and volume down buttons then plug in the power cord until the led turn green then let go the button but there is no picture. What else can I do? Bought this tv about 1 year now.

1. Unplug the TV from the mains.
2. Press and hold Power button and (-) Volume button
3. Keep pressing the buttons while plugging the TV back to the mains
4. Keep pressing for 20 seconds or more till the small red LED turns into green.
5. Wait for few minutes till the TV resets itself

I own a Sony KD65X9000C, i am facing a similar issue. The TV turns on until the point android is loading then the display immediately turns off. I've already followed the procedure mentioned in the video and the comments. I do some how or the other get directed to the resetting screen but then the same thing happens (Display get turned off and red light starts blinking 4 times) I am repeating this procedure at the moment, hoping that I could get through the factory reset process. What I fear is what if the TV shuts down during the reset ? I've spent approximately 5000 US dollars on this TV. And haven't found a possible fix for this problem. The technician told its reletad to the motherboard, i cannot afford to give this tv away to a local or any other technician unless they give me a proper feedback of this problem. @SonyListens please suggest a fix at the earliest. Help much appreciated. Thank you.

I tried downloading on to usb file from sony that didnt start it in flash mode - so read somewhere that make 2 files but label 2nd one upgrade_uploader.pkg tried that now its got the correct screen with the dont dissconnet from mains and spinning arrow its been on several hrs sometimes i get blue light at bottom then sony logo then back to updating screen. I think personaly needs a new pre proged eprom or whateva they use on this model. i tried the forced reset i get green light but no writing instruction on screen just carries on loop.

My TV stops to turn on all of sudden in the morning and this video is the Ultimate solution that worked... Thanks a lot

Adding my steps if someone can get benefit
before this step: I used to see a white led comes and stays ON for 3 seconds and goes off blinking white screen (very slight visible white screen which can be observed in dark)
After the above steps TV stopped even giving this white led and screen blink and not sure why and did not solve the problem of TV

then I followed slight change in steps
1. without removing the power cables
2. Press and hold 'Volume Down" button firmly and then "Power Button"
3. hold both buttons firmly for more than 30secs until a whitish green led comes ON
(firstly for me a whitish green LED started to glow at 45th second and i removed my fingers holding the buttons and ended in 'back to square one' i.e. white led ON for 3 seconds and going OFF)

second time after few minutes i repeated 2nd and 3rd step, this time i did not remove my fingers from the buttons even after the whitish green led started to glow

4. Hold both the buttons firmly even after the whitish green led glows till you see the colorful circles starts to display on screen

My TV turned ON and working since 2hrs
I still went ahead and did the 'factory reset' after the above 'forced factory reset'

i did a settings to 'auto timer power on' everyday at 8am as a mitigate alternative way to power on, remember that this setting will make tv to power on even if you are away from home on vacation ! so remember to remove the power, this is just my alternate for couple days

FYI: fond various steps online at sony e-support
1. unplug power from wall outlet for 30sec and plug in - did not work for me
2. Hold 'power on' and 'up arrow' buttons - did not work for me

I just bought my x900E three weeks ago...last Sunday it had a firmware update...afterwards when I switched between picture adjustments...mainly go to animation back to standard...the tv turned off...then came 8 red blinking lights...so I got the store (Fry's...San Diego) to come pick it up...and they replaced it with a new one on Wednesday...today I had a firmware update...and guess what...it's done the same thing...what's up with that?...does it really need a new motherboard?...or is it something in the firmware sabotaging the circuits?...I love the tv's picture...but can't keep it if this keeps going on....

I have had a new Sony XBR65X-950H for about 2 months. The channel guide worked fine for about 1 month then a couple of channel groups showed "No program information". Then 1 week ago information for all channels disappeared. Updates show as current & I rebooted Android. Next, I rescaned the channels without an antenna, turned off the TV, unplugged it for 1 minute, plugged it in, attached the antenna, restarted it, re-scanned it still there is still no guide data. Many people are having the same problem with Sony TV's. 1) What should I do? 2) If I need to, I can do a factory reset, but will that fix the problem?
