You can advance with quality step increases. I’d advise to accept quality step increases after your 3rd step increase. Take the money if you’re offered one or the other. The reason is you will cut 1year off your step 4 increase if you took the qsi and only have to wait 1yr vs 2yrs.

I am very basic, so if you can answer the questions I have in this comment I will greatly appreciate it.

If I am offered a GS-12 Step 1 position, how long will it take for me for me to be offered a step 2? step 3...so on.

Should you continue in the Curren General Schedule Pay scale through steps 1-10 or after being offered step 3 should you apply for a higher GS- position.

I was just deemed eligible for gs11 and 12. I’m super excited. I would like to know which one they would offer me or do they have to go with the 12?
