when you are ready to buy your magnetic pin container, don't buy it from a fabric store, buy it from the auto part store. they are much cheaper and twice as strong. they are used for nuts and bolt, but they are awesome forr pins, needles, and even safety pins, you can also get a telescopic magnet to pick up pin from the floor without bending down.

I work for a sewing machine company and quick tip.... the higher number of the needle the thicker the fabric.... example 90 and higher is for leather/jeans/ canvas and needles such as 60 is for fine fabric like silk... and so on... have fun sewing great tutorials...

Little info:
Hardwarestores usually have small magnetic bowls in the nail section. We use them. They are not the prettiest but the magnet is strong AF 😂

Ps the clip on lights from IKEA are better :)

I actually just got those pattern making rulers! I recommend getting the metal ones though, apparently the plastic ones have a tendency to break after a couple months.

An invisible hem (or blind-stitch hem) is made to appear "invisible" from a distance, which is why it's normally used hems for dresses, skirts and pants. Adjusting the stitch length to 4 or higher will make it more "invisible".

I liked how you filmed yourself trying out the new gadgets. Made it more interesting for me who doesn't know a lot about sewing!

the secret for the corner thing, is when you're sewing, you put a piece of string (thread), and when you flip it, it'll have a "handle" so you can tug the corner out! :D

When going over thick seams like denim a woman taught me to use half a close pin and put the wood close pin up against the back of your presser foot to help leaven it out and move over the denim quickly. It was a great fix and it works great. The other thing I do is I bought on Amazon one Of those headlamps that you might use camping or hiking. It's a little awkward on the head But hopefully no one's watching. It really lights up your projects you might wanna try it

@coolirpa I find that to prevent those raw edges peeking out with the rolled hemming foot it really helps if the initial raw edge is cut super straight and even which (let's face it) does not always work out if sewing in a rush. Also feeding in a very narrow width at a time helps since there is no extra to 'fold back on itself'. Hope that makes sense.

I find the best thing for marking fabrics is frixion pens! it doesn't need to be washed out like chalk, wax or pencil, you just iron it out when you're finished and it disappears completely due to the heat!!

I'm a quilter and I love my rotary cutter and cutting mat. The times I have attempted clothes have been sad hopefully and I try more my skills will improve. I have old eyes so I need a lot of light to sew. I love the bendable light I have attached to the machine. It puts light right on the needle while I'm sewing. My light is different and has a much thinner cord. Plus my hubby attached Velcro to my machine and the cord to hold the cord in place so it doesn't flap around. Other thing I own and love is a sew steady table it's customized to my machine. It gives me so much more space to sew. When I machine quilt a queen size piece I need the extra space. last side note there are some cool quilting rulers where you slide the rotary cutter into a cut out in the ruler to give you a more precise cut. I like the June Carter 12''x12'' Slotted Ruler. Not sure it the ruler would work for clothes but it works great for making strips. I guess for clothes that would be waistbands. Just some tools I love from the quilting world. I have such respect for people that can make and transform clothes the way you do. Keep of the great work.

Some sewing hacks that I have learned are to take a chopstick and use that to poke out the corners. It's much cheaper than buying that plastic thing and super simple. Another hack is to take frixion erasable pens by pilot (this is just the brand I use) and use those to mark up fabrics. The pens are designed to disappear when heat is applied (because the friction caused when erasing them on papered creates heat) so when you iron out the fabric the ink disappears immediately

How is your work space set up. I'm really curious as to how you keep things organized
