Necessary to mention this video is NOT sponsored by Prym. I bought all gadgets with my own moneys in order to test them unbiased. What do you think? Which one would you keep or yeet?

I got the weirdest looking sewing gadgets from the brand Prym that I could find.

Small Disclaimer: having lost my mom and other loved ones to cancer, I take a lighter stance on the subject, as my loved ones would have too. What would I keep? I might think aboit it for: the knitting cords thing if it wasn't so hard to keep in place; the piece of plastic thar helps with corners and the roler cutter - can't be worst than the only one I ever had ss it didn't cut and the plastuc parts started breacking anfer 2 days.
Anything related to heating plastic is a no no for me, a no no never never! Powder clouds are also very far from what I consider healthy.

My cheapskates little heart weeps for the wasted money. I watched all the ads so I hope you'll make it all back! 😅 This was fun. Your editing is freaking amazing.

Oh too funny that they kept making that vintage gadget (the chalk hem marker).

When you were motorizing the knitting machine thing… it cut to an ad for top gear on the BBC, and it was speeding cars. Spinning wheels very fast. 😂

Nopes. Nothing would I keep.
Except the dance clip... there should be an extended version of that

I have one of those skirt hemmers and I do use it and find it very helpful for marking hems on my wonky body. BUT, the chalk gets everywhere, and you have to be right up against the puffer thingy to get a clear mark and then the chalk goes through the fabric and all over your legs. But my hems have gotten a lot straighter since using it.

They've relaxed the rules but for a long time the string cutter necklace was the only cutting tool you could take on airplanes, so if you were working on a project that required cutting yarn or string it was pretty much your only option. Also if you go to like a knitting group at a coffee shop, if you attach one of the cutting pendants to your project bag, you don't have to rummage around in your bag to try to find your scissors. I put my travel scissors in a ear buds case and it still takes me a bit to find it in my travel knitting bag.

I would like to see a hem-liner or whatever its called that actually works. and is easy to use. and does not have a pair of arms and legs and a sence of self.

OMG I'm so excited you reviewed the mini roller cutter. I have one in my Amazon basket and I was on the fence about getting one. As for the chalk hem thing, total yeet. HOWEVER, this gives me an idea! You'd have to set up your own jimmy-rig but there are chalk line things that you snap to get a straight line. It's used in construction. So probably the chalk is not fabric safe but maybe it could be replaced? Probably. Maybe your hubs can help snap it while you wear the skirt?

The corner turner also works surprisingly well the mark places temporarily on many fabrics, woven better than knits. Just draw with pressure and it will leave a slight crease.

The ruler handle is for quilting rulers which are used with a rotary cutter and mat. The handle helps to prevent cut fingers.

I use 3M transparent wall hooks on my rulers so I can grab the suckers and yet see the measurements underneath. The best part? They don't come off like the suction cup ones do.

I have a vintage wooden hem marker which has a clamp that holds the fabric while you put a pin in its grooves. The pin goes twice through the fabric neatly like magic. But you can't do it on yourself. My skirts are high in back too and every method I try, I get two or more non-converging lines when I mark my hems. I found hem clips that are like a steel ruler folded with tension like a bobby pin, but wider (or you can use long bobby pins) I mark the clips in different colors so that when I pull it up to where I can reach it, I can tell which one I was looking at. I can then slide the hem fold up or down within the clip which holds the extra fabric folded up from the hem line. Then I drop it down again to see if that change worked.

My friends bought me a pirate wristband pin cushion that has snaps on it to close and I love it. I use it all the time when I’m sewing. I’m realizing that I should bring it out of my sewing room and put it in my new sewing box… yes I should. The pin cushion is a small scull thing but I love it so much. I was reminded of it by the slap magnet bracelet that you had that was a yeet, as was the powder hem, and fabric repair powder of cancer.

My Grandmother had the last one and swore by it. She was a great sewist and very precise in her sewing. When I inherited it a few years ago I got rid of it! Not for me!!! Love these videos.

I’m like you. The smallest things can be so wonderful, especially if they make my life easier. I remember how excited our office was when we got an electric stapler.

you can put a power tool end on the knitting mule and never have to hand crank again!

We used those chalk markers at a bridal/prom shop I worked at, and it seems to me like theyre fine to use on other people but a pain to use on yourself. Also, I found that I always had to hold my hand under the hem to get a good mark. They're kind of more trouble than they're worth tbh
