It’s been a very productive first year of dedicated sewing, and I’m SO pumped to share everything I made with you guys! Hang out with me while I chat all about the process and details of all of my makes over the past year. While I still consider myself a confident beginner sewist, I have learned an unbelievable number of new skills, thanks to all the wonderful tutorials and patterns I’ve followed!
I can’t wait to take these lessons into year two!

As a guy that sews, I enjoyed you making things for Patrick. There is tons of content for sewing dresses, skirts, etc. and I’ve learned a lot of techniques from those videos. But there’s not a lot of men’s clothing. Thank you, and thank you for sewing things for others.

Hi I’m a Granny who hasn’t sewn for 25 years … but I just dusted off my machine and gonna start sewing again.
My favorite things were your baby’s dresses, black and white dress with the Paris fabric and the shirts you made for ur husband. Your custom wardrobe looks great on u! Thanks for sharing! (And yes I watched all the way to the end) ❤

I love how compassionate you are to yourself! You have such a great and positive attitude toward your past self and your past abilities, as well as things that aren't 'perfect' but you love just the same!

Oh my gawd, I'm soooo impressed. It's official, I'm scared of failure! I bought a great sewing machine and all I do is read "how to" books. Jeeeez. Look at you and all those fantastic, sexy tops that look lovely on you. I'm INSPIRED.

You should feel very proud of yourself and everything you have learned and accomplished. For a beginning sewist, you tackled some intimidating patterns. I especially like the dresses you made for your daughter.

This is such an insane flex. I kinda want to learn now. 😊

Your pattern choices are so fun and unexpected. Many of them I’ve never seen before - such a treat!

The dark red dress with the white print is the bomb. You have a talent for picking out the right fabric for the right pattern.

I am so happy to see someone so excited about her sewing journey. I am up in years now, but I remember when I first decided to teach myself to sew, there was no stopping me. I would make my own patterns or maybe draft two different patterns for a completely different look. The whole idea is it gives you a chance to express your individuality! And I think you've created some terrific items. Keep up your great work!

You're so prolific! I've been sewing for over 20 years and I'm really inspired by your makes!

I hope when our country resumes its sanity we will return to Home Ec classes. So much can be learned by proper education in home sewing and cooking skills. Imagine a fun class on up cycling garments after basic sewing skills are learned in semester one. After my first year I took summer classes with a neighborhood lady. One of my fondest memories.

I’m so impressed! I love that you’ve recreated the same patterns a number of times with small tweaks to make it more you or change the look - I think this is such a great way to improve and I will be taking a leaf out of your book when approaching my projects this year

Amazing...you are very productive and brave. As a woman of a certain age, who's been sewing for about 60 years, I am very impressed with you. I think you look much better in all the colors that would be considered to be in the Winter palette. (Pure cool jewel tones, pure white, pure black, navy, etc.) Especially stunning in the last dress: the black and white floral (Paris) short dress! The other colors in the Autumn and Spring palettes definitely wash you out, at least on my monitor. Find a color analyst and get it done! Try using a Teflon presser foot for sewing leather. Yes, I watched the entire video. Great production quality.

That was just fabulous, Rachel. You are doing a great job. The best thing is your generosity. Everything you made I just loved. Oh to be your age again. I have been sewing since I was a child and have loved it all my 73 years. Greetings from Sydney ❤️🇦🇺🦘

This was a very fun video to watch. I'm a knitter/sewist/gardener with a 9 month old and had so much fun watching all your makes while finishing a sweater my MIL started for my husband 35 years ago. This year I plan on sewing a lot more since it's so much faster than knitting, considering how little time I have with darling baby boy. Congrats on all your progress!

Eyy similar story here, during the pandemic I feel like I lost my style and I wasn’t shopping cus there was no where to go lol! Then when I went back to the stores, everything went down in quality so much that I decided I can sew things better AND from nice COTTON sheets than the synthetic crap they were trying to sell me! 😅

I just can't 😂 the Spongebob costume you made for your daughter is SO cute, I love it! Also, great job. I can't believe you're a beginner at sewing. Your wardrobe is so pretty and it makes me more excited to try out sewing, once i get a machine. I was afraid i wouldnt be able to produce anything id want to wear within the first year 😅 you've given me hope that thet might not be the case lol
