The duality of the mainstream FPS space has predominantly been Call of Duty vs Battlefield... For as long as I can remember, that's been the head to head in years where those franchises had games coming out, Halo was once at that point but the fandoms and franchises have always fought tooth and nail going up against each other. But admittedly, even while the quality of some recent COD games have made players long for the days of old, Battlefield has one upped them with recent experiences like 2042 from its launch onward. So for Battlefield, while it's been said before, there's a lot of a feeling of "do or die" that makes the most recent news and reveals pose the very real question of "Can this finally be the hit the franchise needs"? Today we're taking a look at the newest details on Battlefield 2025 and what the next game may have in store for players. For now, let's take a look at the first details of Battlefield 2025. This is: Battlefield 2025 Could Be a Massive Turning Point... (First Details)

Please don’t fall for marketing hype and “this is a love letter for the fans.” Wait until the game actually launches to judge it and buy it (or not).

Glad to hear specialists are not coming back. faceless soldiers fits battlefield way more, also I hope destruction is turned to the max, I want maps to be almost levelled by the end of the match.

I think one thing newer games don't quite have is the robustness of older games.
Think about how long BF4 survived for and it WASN'T live service. It came out with more than enough content to play for years and then DLC on top which basically doubled the content each time. Not this one weapon every month bs, full DLCs to lengthen the life of the game. It make the games so much more replayable and "robust" - hope that all made sense

Battlefield 4 was such a great game. I genuinely miss that game, I hope they bring that same style from BF4 to their new game!!

Battlefield just needs to have real-life aspects but within a video game environment while having a grind system for the player experience. What this means is

Armory: No Bullet Magnetism, No Quick Scoping, especially on Snipers. The LMGs, and Explosives need to feel deadly and useful. Shotguns are supposed to be able to kill around 125 yards, not 15 feet like in previous games and other franchises. Turrets need to feel powerful and deadly. Gadgets and Equipment need to actually feel useful while still being practical to use in most cases.

Environment: There needs to be a Day Night Weather Seasonal Cycle System that changes every 2 hours throughout the entire game. Maps need to feel more alive, not just the grass wind effects and snow crunch sounds but players should be able to turn off or shoot the lights out so it becomes completely dark. Destructible environments need to be throughout the entire map for bullet holes and explosive. If someone throws smoke grenades in a room, it doesn’t just disappear within seconds.

Rewards: Need to actually mean something special. But players need to work more for those rewards while grinding throughout the game. Those video game aspects like having a leveling system on weapons need to be on everything, so it will give the player a different and enlightening experience while still being fun to play.

There’s one BR for every 10 traditional arena shooters. I don’t know why people keep saying there’s so many BRs. As a PUBG guy, give me a fun game where teamwork and communication are essential to consistent victories.

Who here agrees that Battlefield 4 was the all time high for the Battlefield franchise?

Well, it was a bullet point I wanted back as a vet BF player. NO OPERATORS, no SPECIALISTS! Modern combat just classes. I enjoyed 128 it was a tried time for 64 again! I remember when it was the Medal of Honor vs. Call of Duty.

BF’s biggest mistake was around bf3 and 4 when the legitimately stated they were going to compete with cod. They then tried to become COD. The issue is BF had its own identity its own take on the shooter genre and there was a niche for that. Not every BF player played COD nor did every COD player play BF and that was ok. Bf wanted those COD players to come over therefore tried to emulate COD and undoubtedly with each entry BF has completely lost and forgotten what it was……also firestorm was amazing

Nope, I'm not buying any of their lies. Buch of PR buzz words. I have to see it to believe it

Delta Force seems on track to release the game Dice and EA have struggled to. They needed to revive the bad company series and go back to the successes of BF3 and BF4 instead of taking talking points from ubisoft.
The trend continues where earnings calls are more important than direct engagement with the community who makes or breaks those earnings for shareholders.

Maybe they’ll put guns in the game that take skill to use. Every gun in 2042 had zero recoil

Been playing BF my entire life since the original always love BF more than cod but they both fulfill me in different ways. Bad company 2 was my favorite if they can go back to the older formula the game could end up being amazing. Hopefully they can make a great BR. But after the last game I'm keeping my expectations checked.

I personally dont think or feel like battlefield needs or should do/try to do a battle royal mode. 1 battle royals are over saturated enough as is. 2 & most importantly to me I just dont think battlefield needs to do a BR. They have 64 played gamemodes as is and just thinking of a BR in battlefield style to me wouldn't even feel genuine. Think PUBG but done in a battlefield engine with looting etc... just seems it would be forced. Let battlefield be battlefield.. large scale battles offering a more immersive "military " FPS experience unique to itself

This actually sounds promising. I really hope it does end up being like BF3 and BF4. Those were the best in my opinion
