We’ll also look at how to customize LinkedIn connection requests (a really important step that shouldn't be missed).

We all know that networking is critical to job search success. But we actually need to take action with our networking, particularly when we network with recruiters. After all, we can’t exactly hire people to do networking for us.

Just like finding the right recruiters to network with, LinkedIn is the only resource we need to connect with and message the right recruiters too.

Great advice! I encourage my clients to reach out to Recruiters in a similar fashion. The one thing I would add is…job seekers should not take a personally if the Recruiter does not respond.

I spoke with a Recruiter yesterday who mentioned that she was overwhelmed with the number of messages she receives on LinkedIn. She said it’s like having a part-time job replying to messages and she feels bad if she can’t get to some of them. 😕
