Honestly it’s so weird how giving respect is in different parts of the world:

To most in the west you have to prove something to be given respect.

In the East it’s give respect until given a reason not to

In the mid part it’s mostly mixed

Everyone should be respected until they give a reason not to be. Meeting should start with decency and it stay there until you do something wrong.
Trying to earn respect while being treated like crap is not the way life should start.

I just watched this movie after seeing loads of shorts. This is a great movie. Not just a good movie. Any movie that has a hard message that can get through is a GREAT movie. But this is a true story. Like Anne Frank. These were real lives. Changed because this teacher believed in them when no one else did. She gave them hope. Every teacher should strive to be her. Genuinely if your a teacher and you can't stand the kid that acts out, the kid you can't understand why they aren't taking in their coursework. Why your teaching isn't working. Cause that's the answer. Your teaching isn't working and you need to fix it. Not the student.

They do have some pretty valid points. I watched the movie once, and I thought that the teacher was an awesome person, but the kids do have valid points about other white people

While it is true that Respect is not given, it is earned, it is equally true fact that everyone / everything is entitled to a certain level of Respect, i.e. until / unless they give a reason to Not To.

When he said I won’t give you my respect just because your called teacher I would said “yeah and i don’t know if your a bad person if your a lier so why should I give you my respect” or I would said “good i don’t want the respect of a little disrespect jerk like you so keep any little respect you have because you don’t have enough for yourself”
