This video is about the top 10 highest paying college degrees

I make videos about all aspects of personal finance and how to choose the right college degree is one of the topics that I love talking about. Now, there are many factors that go into this: Job satisfaction, passion, meaning, job outlook just to name a few. But pay is also a big factor that shouldn't be ignored.

So it doesn't matter whether you're going to online college (because of the current situation that will not be named due to monetization purposes, people that are getting online degrees must be happy haha) or a state college, or a private school, it's important that you choose the right degree for your future.

99% of people never choose their college degree on the basis of their passion cause we all are young and naive at that time and are more concerned about fame and money than passion.

I don't know who this is for but here goes: Don't be scared to pursue a STEM degree. Understanding a concept or two per day goes a long way. It is better to be a 33 year old recent computer science graduate who paced himself by only taking two classes a semester, than a 35 year old who "hasn't figured it out yet" or "doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up". Try to learn something new and take it slow.

Basically anything that isn't STEM isn't a high paying or demanding major.

I have a Computer and Information Science degree and I can vouch for this!!!! I interned last summer at a manufacturing business making full stack websites and ended up turning the internship into a full-time job off with them. And they let me start the job the beginning of my final semester of school. With a CS degree there is definitely room for growth. I love being a programmer and its more than just money for me. It challenges my whole mind. I love being a full-stack person.

Thanks for the physics love! I’m starting my PhD this fall (made it into HYPSM!). For anyone curious, Physics/Astronomy PhDs are FULLY FUNDED. For me that’s zero tuition and a stipend of $40K/yr+Healthcare+Dental.

Yes, that is much lower than industry jobs but (a) you get to study black holes and alien galaxies for 5 more years and (b) those dope finance and data science jobs are pretty much waiting for you. Overall physics is a great way to “follow your passion” and not be broke.

Electrical Engineer grad checking in here. Getting the degree was honestly one of the very hardest things I have ever done in my life, but the payoff was so worth it.
Completed it 9 years ago, and I have never ever regretted it.
Do yourself a favor: get a STEM degree. You'll be glad you did!

I’m a Econ/Finance dual major, and at first when you said Finance was number 10, I was concerned, but then you said Econ was number 4 and all of my anxiety washed away

The best thing about engineering is that once u have done one type of engineering you can switch to any other engineering field with ease, by job training and masters

Paramedic/firefighter 72-82k ish (associate's degree) works 2 days a week, amazing benefits, and decent amount of PTO (+ overtime which can get you up to 90-100k )

Yeah, as an aero engineering student I can confirm that the job market is daunting as hell. For all those like me doing their bachelor's abroad (I'm in the UK), move to the US or France for your masters. Those two countries are the big players in aero and you usually have to be a permanent resident to work on in a country's aerospace industry because of security clearance (if you're from the EU you'll be fine in France, obviously)

From time to time I wonder why you don't have more subscribers when you definitely deserve more. Love your videos, thank you for helping out people and just being real with your audience about the things you discuss. Keep it up!!!

I always had doubts whether I would get a good paying job majoring in Economics and Finance since it’s extremely competitive but glad to know that if you work hard, this degree is amazing!

To be fair MIS and Information systems is basically on par with computer science considering both fields have extremely high paying jobs [for example project managers, cloud computing roles, business analysts etc] So in reality considering I.T is a field of constant learning you are already destined to self-teach yourself so a MIS/Info Systems degree + self-taught programming and technical side of things is by far the best option.

I'm a chemist in the O&G industry and Petroleum Engineers do not live out in the middle of nowhere nor on rigs. The vast majority work in corporate offices. So in the US these would include places like Houston, Dallas, OKC, Denver, etc.
