You forgot about Petroleum Engineering. Can start around $90, 000 and depending on the company you can invest in new wells drills or wells being purchased. Adding those together can get you over $250, 000 per year.

Ummm no, a software engineer is not going to make $100k off the bat. Not even close, Timmy. That's the salary of someone with years of experience (5+ years). As an actual software engineer, I couldn't even keep count on the number of college graduates that don't know shit about programming other than useless theory.

A starting salary would be in the 50-65k range.
