I always assumed Leorio’s ability was due to his being reluctant to fight directly. The fact that it’s for practical use—to treat cancers and remove tumours—is so perfect (since he became a Hunter to get money to be a doctor). I can’t believe I missed that. Both reasons can be valid, and that’s why I love how much thought Togashi puts into his characters!
