I have had an issue with my iphone x after replacing my screen, i was struggling for months no fault no where. I put my iphone into DFU mode a deeper process than a actual factory reset and it worked. it will restore your phone and download the current ios again. Not sure if it will work for everyone but it definitely worked for me.

Nicely done, also the soldering iron pointy bit is called a "tip", nozzle are for hot air gun

So if you transfer only the flood illuminator to a new flex cable Face ID won’t work? Need to also transfer ambient light sensor?
