FYI, Knipex is pronounced "nipex."👍

It really sucks when you don’t have a couple nuts to jam together to back a stud out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A 300 buck answer to a one dollar problem.

If you wanted to do it without damaging the stud you can also use two nuts to make a jam nut and unscrew

I have an old Snapon heavy duty stud remover that works wonders on those larger studs like that. It is a little bulky but with one like that it would be easy. You put a ratchet on the end of it and crank away. It also tend not to make those marks on the shaft. It also works for installation as well.

If you dont have 2 nuts to lock together that classic pipe wrench works fabulous

Get 2 nuts instead of stuffing up the stud

Mechanics rediscovering more expensive versions of channel locks or vice grips is my favorite

Engine builders love all the ways you can create metal fragments around the engine block

I am getting me a pair of these. I just had a situation where I exhausted all my resources. Had I known these existed I don’t think I would’ve had this much trouble. Thank you.

Found an old pipe wrench in my grandmothers basement she let me have it. Soaked it in penetrating oil to get it moving. It's been in my tool box for over 25 years. I'd say it's about 50 years old and it's never failed a job I gave it.

I just use a really small pipe wrench that was made in the new here

Really?? F’d up a perfectly good stud to show how a glorified pipe wrench works 🤦‍♂️

These are nice. I have a set of Channellock parrot pliers that do the same but much simpler.

I am such a Knippex fan. I replaced all my pliers with knippex.

I have those. They're great for doing alignments on crusty vehicles where vise grips just don't cut it

Knipex are awesome pliers. No doubt about that.

I have a similar knipex plier. I use them to break loose frozen tie rods, worth the purchase!
