LEOPARD GECKO VS CRESTED GECKO | Which is the better pet?

Is a leopard gecko or a crested gecko a better pet? Discussing different aspects of owning each gecko, plus which one I personally prefer.

I think leopard geckos can handle more handling and therefore I would say that crested geckos and leopard geckos are at the same place when it comes to which one is better.

Personally I like leopard geckos a bit more than crested and that’s why I am getting a leopard gecko. But I want a crested as well in the future ^^

I have been thinking about which one to get for a long time and it has been so hard because they are both awesome. But I think id rather have a leopard gecko because they don't need humidity to be so high and I prefer something less jumpy to handle. Thanks for making this video it really helped me make my decision :)

One time my sister accidentally let her crested gecko out he was lost for 9 day and was found in a cheerio box and the cheerio box was almost full

Crested geckos are definitely easier care but I prefer leopard geckos personality

Also tip since I have two crested Geckos and a gargoyle... pressure sprayers are your best friend

I have a leopard gecko and he was my first lizard. Fairly easy to take care of, he got super comfortable with me really quickly and is super calm in my hands vs random friends... so he can definitely smell or taste the difference of my skin/scent. I instantly had a bond with him when I saw him in his little glass enclosure and took him out. He was missing a few toes(nails) on his right front foot and so I immediately took him home because I felt bad for the pet store neglecting him like that. He never grew them back entirely but he did gain a bit of length just no nails returned on those middle toes. Luckily his outer 2 toes were fully intact and so he can still grip no problem.
I recently went to a reptile specific store and saw many well treated animals. To the point I was drawn to the Crested Geckos. I wasn't too familiar with them prior to seeing them there. I have been into Leo's so quite some time but never really looked into any other lizards or geckos as I was content with the Leo Lizard Life :p... However the excitement and liveliness of the Cresties was quite entertaining. I also enjoy the fact they can grip onto virtually anything and if they fall from a few few high there's nothing to worry about.. whereas my leo's will just YOLO walk straight off of any surface and I have to constantly watch and catch them lol. There are some really gorgeous morphs of Cresteds but man are they expensive! I saw a patternless one that was reasonable in price and I do like the solid colour look of him. Still not sure if I should dive into it with the crested tbh but I do like their energy. I'm just curious as to what I want with a crested. Do I want a "cool" morph or do I want an OG crested Gecko patternless? It's a tough choice as I got super lucky with my first leo and I just picked him without knowing anything about morphs (as he was only 1 of 2 avaialble at the time).. come to find out he is a super rare morph (Raptor MACSuperSNOW Snake eye) and I got really lucky with him and his price. I don't think I will get lucky with the price/morph again and this time will pay for what morph I get. I do like solid colours though and my leo already has so many amazing features... Maybe this Crested Gecko will look more OG as one solid colour.. Especially when he flares up and changes his entire colour instead of just one part. Any opinions?

I love my crestie, I've never had much fun with leos, but I've always been drawn to arboreal geckos, I've even had 2 tame tokays. My crestie came into the store without a tail and they had dropped his price to half, like I almost care how he looks! Hes already a gorgeous red dalmatian, he doesn't need a tail

After owning both types of geckos, my opinion is slightly different. While you make great points about a cresteds being easier to care for (diet requirements and heating), keeping a leopard gecko teaches the basics and gives a strong foundation of skills to an owner who is interested in keeping more “difficult” reptiles in the future. I think it boils down to each owner and how far they want to grow their hobby.

I think I'll get the leopard gecko. sounds like the best for me, I dont care for the life feeding, it might actually be more entertaining. And they are so cute.

I have both crested and leopard geckos they are both great for first time reptile owners but i do agree that cretse geckos are every low maintnance and can easily live with little effort.

I have two leopard geckos and I agree Crested would be better for a beginner as well as a child wanting a reptile for a pet. I do love my leopards though and was thinking of getting a crestie in the future or a AFRICAN fat tail.

My one gecko is like a puppy always wanting to be held and loved!

I personally prefer Cresteds. They are a bit easier to care for and I like handling them a little bit more.
