I honestly had no liking for geckos until I started watching your channel. Now I have 2 leopard geckos, 3 crested geckos, 3 gold dust day geckos, and one grumpy Leachie. They are all amazing.

Before I watch the video, I’m going to say Cresties. My reasoning-
Crested geckos (Imo) are easier to care for, since they don’t need a horizontal tank, so it takes up less floor space. And they don’t need any special heating, unlike Leos.
They’re easier to feed. Pre-prepared diet, fruit, and occasionally some insects. Leos are completely insectivores.
Handleability might go to Leos, but it depends on the individual

I own them both :D
Leopard Geckos can be left alone for a week that's a plus for me.
Crested geckos are a little bit more apartment friendly when you're in your twenties and live in a shared apartment in a city like me, it won't take up as much space.
Also, all of my room mates were a little skeptical about feeding live insects at first when I was gone, the powder diet is easier to manage. But I could always find a volunteer haha.
Also I like the leopard gecko's day night cycle better. You can catch them (in summer time) early in the morning (5 am) awake in their enclosure. At least one of my 2 geckos. So i could actually get up with my pet <3.
Leopards are also active around the afternoon early evening, while my crestie is NEVER out before 9pm, but more like 11pm.

Hey Adam! I've been watching your channel for a little over a year. I got my first reptile around that same time, a crested gecko named Mokka. Today I bought a 120 gallon tank to cohab crested geckos and I couldn't be more excited! Just wanted to say thank you for all that you do in educating and inspiring others!!!

I originally wanted a snake, but after my mother vetoed that idea, I started looking into geckos and 2 months later, I picked up Neo, my juvenile Crested! He is so much fun and still nervous when I initially take him out to handle, but once hes in my hands he is always on the move, crawling up my shirt/arms. He is amazing :D

They’re both so different, it’s hard to compare. Leo’s are prob easier bc they don’t require misting, but it’s fun to have a tropical gecko

I think later in the year I might get both. Both my sons want reptiles and I love setting up tanks since I love plants so the thought of setting up 2 very different tanks sparks joy and the bonus will be 2 happy kids with 2 geckos living their best lives

As someone with both at the moment my Peanut boy is my absolute love. I always thought my leopard gecko would be easier to hold but I think I lucked out as my Crestie will chill with me for an hour before they start to get 'jumpy'.

My Leo, Butters, doesn't ever like to leave her humid hide, hahah I guess I'm glad she likes it?

I have both, and I absolutely adore the little quirks both have! My crested gecko, Ducky, has a routine of sticking her chin all the way up to the sky after licking up her food, which I adore seeing! On the other hand, my leopard gecko, Bumpy, will do the craziest things to get my attention, including screaming very loud once a night and stretching his head up to the tank door. They are both lovely creatures to be sharing my living space with!

I've tended to prefer Gargoyles over Crested because they're almost identical in care while the Gargoyle can regrow their tail while Crested seem to be rare to keep them...

I chose leopard gecko. my reasoning: morphs colors are much more clean and bright, beautiful eyes (plus eyelids = less weird), not jumpy, dont loose tail easily. I knew i wanted some kind of bright green or orange lizard, unfortunately both of them cant be green, but leopards have the most awesome electric and blood morphs. Soooo last week i got one :) Although i love light coloured lily whites, and literally any green reptile :) Cons for both: source of food: you keep leopard you keep crickets or roaches, you keep cresties you keep buying special diet. Pros: You can be more self sufficient with leopards.

I just picked up my first crestie at a reptile expo this past weekend. I love the way they feel.

Mr. Adam, I had the same dilemma when I was trying to decide leopard v crested when I was getting my first gecko. I went with crested because I didn't like the chubby tail of the leopard. I liked the long thing tail of the crested. Also, I love how the crested can lick their own eyes. I found it fascinating and absolutely adorable to watch. I also wanted something more arboreal. There ya go. Crested wins. Of course, they are both adorable with their goofy smiles and 1/10 of 1 brain cell. There is no wrong answer. :) Thanks for the video!

To make it simple: best choice, it's the one that suits better to your lifestyle and the one you really want and are willing to care for after doing your research 😊

I got my Bearded Dragon from a breaded and I love him so much. He turned 2 in the middle of September. I named him Bono Edge. He is so chill like Bono from U2 also. So far I haven’t seen him black beard. My next is going to be a Leopard Gecko. I still haven’t been to a reptile show yet. I have two tanks still because I upgraded from a 20 long to a 29 tall. Now I have a ZooMed front opening medium and he loves it. He still wants to climb so I need to upgrade to a tall. Bono is a high yellow citrus.

If you are interested in doing more comparison videos, I'd like to see a head to head (to head) between Leche and chewie geckoes.. Maybe add false chameleons as well as they are, at least superficially, similar

For the temperature humidity part, I partly agree with you, but only because you live In a cold place, just like you said, adding humidity is easier than removing it, and that's the same with temperature, a person like you who lives in a cold environment might be luckier with cresties, but a person like me( I live in Italy) in the summer it gets really hot, and it's a pain to cool the enclosures down
