I use my ryobi electric car pump when I'm out camping using the same technique, I just let it go until I can grab the cork by hand.

I like the idea, but It is much quicker to use a corkscrew. Useful if there is no other way to open the bottle.

Kewl, but you still need a hand tool... and you can open a bottle of wine with near any hand tool! I suppose if you kept pumping, maybe you’d create enough pressure to cork it off like it champagne bottle!!
