For a 2400 gun, you should never experience this

There’s two screws on the side of the spear opposite the side charging handle, remove your hand guard and tighten them that’s the problem hope it helps

Seems to be a common issue. Arisaka is supposedly in the process of making a fix for the Spear like with the MCX. (All google hearsay). Let us know if tightening the handguard up fixes this.

I called sig to ask about why this is happening and they said "everything was fine until someone on the internet starting force flexing their rifle and then everyone became upset. its not supposed to be pushed or pulled on." I then asked isn't this supposed to be a military weapon what if a service member needs to take cover and bumps the rifle, how do I expect it to hold zero." Sig then said "This rifle has been used in SOCOM since 2018 and we have never had this issue until someone starting playing with the barrel." They said torque the bottom screw to 45 ft lbs.

For the price of that thing it should be able to shoot around corners like you are showing

Every video ive seen about this same issue was due to improper torque spec to both the barrel and the rail..Still this doesnt excuse QC process but was resolved when you put in extra checks on your end..also check this out..arisaka defense mcx zero retention clamp

I have a 16 inch 5.56. I literally do not see how this is possible without loosening or removing the barrel and or handguard screws first. I've shot the shit out of this rifle and its deadnuts on everytime. I also have a 5.56 piston LMT MRP, (another monolithic switch barrel rifle, iydk) shot the shit out of it too. Never had anything remotely like a problem. And that switch barrel system is all aluminum. The Sig has beefy ass steel inserts that clamp the barrel, as well as in every other high wear area of the gun. Is the whole steel insert somehow moving? I really wonder if this is actually happening or people are just generating views. A popular, expensive rifle with a "designed by the guys from the homeless camp guys outback" type of problem is going to draw some attention. Idk. Maybe somebody got a shitty one that somehow skipped QC and that story spread like herpegonosyphilis at a rave in the 90's. Or maybe I'm an idiot, who knows. But I havent stuck any forks in light sockets lately so it does make me wonder. By now everyone should be awarr that content creators intentionally include mistakes in their content because it draws a million "but nuh uh!" comments, which feed the algorithm. Not saying this is that of these videos (there are a lot of them now) looks like next level that to me. But I did say "lately" so maybe I am just an idiot who lucked out with the one good LT out there. Parts of this statement seem more likely to me than others. If i bought this gun and it acted like this I'd be at Sigs Headquarters trying to open their office doors vertically because clearly thats how things are supposed to work. Whats up with these weird swingy horizontal doors guys? Did the homeless camp make the building too? Wtf? Also that possibly guns really do kill people. I mean look at that thing! Clearly it has gained sentience. Social Media.

It’s not the barrel it’s the upper.

Have you tried re-torquing it to spec?

Congratulations. You just moved the handguard around. 🎉

Totally normal I noticed the m5 has that issue but hasn’t really affected the accuracy still shoot a 1.0-1.5 moa at 100 yards. Still not as accurate as a good ol DI but I love it.

Man I just picked one up. I pray this doesn’t happen but if it does I’ll send it back and ask for a new rifle. 🤦🏽‍♂️

And what did SIG say or do about this issue?

Solo necesita un clip [ por dentro] que haga anclaje el guardamano con el cuello del cañon. Gracias. SIG SAUER. Problema resuelto

Why is anyone surprised w SIG?! They make handguns that aren’t drop-safe, amongst other

That’s definitely the barrel. Not the hand guard

Its a sig they make it sell it then deal with the issues later never buy a new sig till its been out for 10 years plus. Typical over priced sig junk that has issues go Daniel Defense and glock and be done

Handguard moving not the barrel. Take the handguard off and try again

Pretty poor quality for an expensive riffle

Tighten the hand guard. I dont think its the barrel without seeing where it meets the upper receiver.

Could you repeat the experiment but having taken the hand guard off first? It is absolutely impossible that your fingers can "bend" a barrel. I'd like to see what happened at the barrel insert. Thank you
