Best Beginner Camera to Make Golf Course Vlogs in 2024!

If I am being honest I wish this camera was available to me when I first started making course vlogs. Technology has come so far! In this one I go over the pros/cons/concerns of the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and why it is a great camera to do golf course vlogs and make golf content. Let me know if you have any questions!

Sooo... I have a Pocket 3 and my initial intention was not to use it for golf, but I have been. I have filmed around 10 rounds or so now and I have found that as great as it is for maybe shooting individually, it isn't so great and continuous. The gimble does not like micro stutters from pushing cart over small bumps etc, it really lacks range without losing quality, so unless you have the time to quickly clip it to a tripod then set that on the green, it's left on the cart far away from puts. I have solved the battery issue with and external batter pack, which I can record as long as I have room on my memory card, so it can record a full 18 holes. However, now in the summer months, I find that it has a significant overheating problem. I am pretty sure DJI new this, which is why they released in in the colder months.

Good advice! I started with a Gopro for when I play by myself. Then recently got a 4K camera for when I play with people and they can zoom in on shots so the quality of the video doesn't go down (like you mentioned happens when you do that with the Pocket 3). Also got a drone (when I'm playing with friends) to get some cool shots either behind the tee box or on the green or even some hole flyovers!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm still using a GoPro Hero 10 Black because I can do 4K60 with it. FCPX and obviously like you said, Shot Tracer Pro.

Awesome. I am planning on starting a youtube channel and have been experimenting with the osmo pocket 3. I find it awesome. Was going to try to use a sony zv-1, but i don't think it compares to the ease of use. I purchased final cut pro and shot tracer pro. Where do you keep your footage? On external ssd? And what is the fastest way to transfer onto mac? I actually have a ton of questions, is there a way to dm?

Loved the info! I actually bought the joby mount and the monopod that you use for your current setup! I have a little confusion with it though and I was hoping you could help me figure out, how the heck do you connect the joby mount to the monopod, the threading looks to be different sizes and the hardware needed was not included so I'm curious on what you have done to get the two to connect?

Do you think the dji pocket 3 is worth getting now in 2025? I got a trip to Torrey Pines in May and want an easy way to film the whole thing 🎉. Thinking of this one, but is anything better coming out soon? (Portability is my main concern, it’s so annoying filming a round, want to make it as easy as possible 😅)
