A woman who writes and directs a film that berates a man as a failure. What a shock.

Female director makes movie about male not living up to female expectations. Sounds like a blast.

For so many years men were made to feel guilty for working too hard and neglecting their families “feelings” while struggling to support their families financially. Now they double down on this guilt to punish overachieving Dads. Wow ! PROGRESS !

I never understood the "villianize the dad because he worked too much" trope even as a kid. Where do people think money comes from? Yeah it sucks dad misses the baseball game but the dad wasn't intentionally planning on missing the damn game and the family seems to be enjoying the spoils of dad working when in those movies, mom isn't shown to have a job and they live pretty comfortably.

I'm guessing the director has a lot of cats and they all hate her.

Way to speak to the common folk, H'wood! Everyone knows that your first art gallery business venture is the hardest! I'd like to see a movie examining women's "expectation, " and how it relates to their perceived "male failure." It seems to me that this "expectation" is rooted in something else and manifesting in anger towards men.

Looking forward to the movies explaining to women how to meet men's needs. I won't hold my breath.

A movie about men letting down women and feeling guilty. How original. I will take Alan's advise on this one. Bitter ladies getting their frustrations out is not my idea of a good time.

You'd have to pay me to see this.

The existential sequel to "Mr. Mom"

It’s like a Michael Keaton Greatest Hits album.
-Mr mom
-clean and sober
-My Life
-take this job and shove it (aka working class man)

No matter what you give them, they will find fault with it. This movie is emotional fiction. What I mean is that whenever you hear the because of them "falling out of love", they're back-rationalizing losing their tingles. They lose the thingles and then look for any reason that will make them not look like a horrible person for breaking up the family.

If it wasn't "working too much" it would be "not meeting emotional needs" or "we grew apart" or some other accountability diffusion. In the end, it's all really that they lost the "romantic love" part of the relationship (a natural thing) and think it's possible to feel that way forever -- you can't unless you wreak havoc on your own life.

On the daughter's side it's more legit. As a father you should be there for your children when they're young. When they're teens, they won't want to be around you anyway.

Men unsubscribes, women most affected. The Movie.

A dad being berated for providing for his family, I couldn't care less about this film even though I love Michael Keaton!

It is amazing that Michael Keaton has allowed himself to have a renaissance in his 70s.

so... just to be clear: this is not about tires?

Missed opportunity for this not being a BF Goodrich origin story. Would've been a perfect bookend to Keaton's great "Founder" film about McDonald's.

Is this just a lift from Keaton's 80's career with the comedy removed?

Remember Robin Williams in Hook? How dare he work hard and provide for his family! He should be playing not paying those pesky bills or saving for silly college. Also in Elf, when Walter Hobbs quits his job without other options, it’s mortifying for me.
