this is 100% TRUE, I had never exercised at all til about age 44, then started walking and lifting weights. I got happier and lost 130 lbs. no diet, no surgery. less bread more whole foods lead to better moods. no joke (took me 2 years!)

Absolutely true. Exercise was part of my recovery from burnout and horrendous menopause symptoms. I went from one pilates class and one or two walks a week, up to 5 yoga classes, 3 gym sessions lifting heavy, and 2 cycling sessions a week. Yoga is amazing. The change is phenomenal. I can think clearly, I feel good. And my body looks fantastic ❤

I do not have Spotty....but I hear what Dr Suzuki is saying. I have followed her from since that TED talk of hers. She's marvellous. Her energy hasn't waned. Love her ❤❤

We need recess and daily physical fitness back in our schools. Perhaps ADHD and depression in kids will be reduced.

For me - 55 years old - Disco DANCING works for me! Something I ENJOY! I'm not a gym person - so dancing in my living room to The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, etc, really helps me a lot! Do Something YOU ENJOY!!!! ❤

I noticed this within my own patterns. When I was swimming laps-I felt amazing!! Recently diagnosed with autism and adhd and there was a time I would totally disagree-the years swimming laps. But now, not swimming, I can totally see the downfall.

You know what I find funny? The fact people are doing studies still. These have been proven to be effective simple measures for 1, 000's of years. Do they keep testing thinking a new answer will come out? Humans. Always making things harder than they need to be.

The hard part is working or having to be around miserable people when you are a very happy person.

This more comes from having a simple single purpose, that brings a focus, against the multiple underlying racing thoughts that see people here and there in an everyday life, exercise forms a pointed distraction from miscellaneous uncontrolled thoughts, that lead to getting caught in a vagueness of thought.
The same results happen if you do something like learn an instrument.

I joined gYm dis august. Ive been the happiest and most fulfilled in my life at 39. I literally return from the gym and wait for tomorrow to return. Even though i havent tried most equipments, iam thrilled start. Its a drug. I love it. Even though i havent made any friends there, iam fully satisfied with solo exercise. 😊

What the study did was pay attention to someone and spent extended time paying attention to them. That's what changes people's emotional health which changes their physical health which changes their emotions which changes their physical health which changes their emotions... People need people to care for them and pay attention and make their life something that matters to more than just them. What happenes to the participants when the study concluded?
