Learn how to create clipping masks using any shape with Affinity Photo! In this tutorial, I show you how to draw any shape using Affinity Photo's built-in vector shape drawing tools. Then, I show you how to create a clipping mask to clip your photo using the shape. I also show an alternative method using a layer mask and the vector shape for more flexibility.

Thank you. This really helped me a lot. I'd love you to do more on Affinity Photo. I find the official instructional videos far more difficult to follow than yours.

The most succinct explanation I've come across. Well done and thank you.

Great vivio, but how can I do that with a shape that I designed?

It's a little clumsily still. Why can't we just move the image behind the mask with the mask staying still, acting like a window in front of the image? Having to unlock the mask and reduce the opacity to line things up is slow and awkward.

I have affinity Photo 2 and it seems to not work.

In Photoshop, we can either move the mask OR the image. Is this possible in Affinity photo ?
