I've got a story about this method of trapping to share here, from my travels in Africa. This technique has been used for generations by wandering trappers who arrived in a farming community where they weren't previously known and then proceeded to harvest antelope at such an alarming rate that local hunters lodged a complaint with the village chief, urging him to evict the visiting trappers.

The chief summoned the nomadic trappers' representative for questioning, and the man showed up with a massive antelope that was still alive, and ready for butchering to feed the chief and his numerous wives. Some days later, the hunters who had lodged the protest about the visiting trappers returned to the chief's hut to find out how soon the invaders would be booted out of the area.

The chief welcomed the protesters but then solemnly informed them that since it is God that allocates trapping ingenuity, it would be sacrilegious to evict those upon whom such divine wisdom had been bestowed. Thus ended the matter once and for all.

That is by far the best trap system I've seen. Absolutely brilliant!
Thanks.

Now that's a nice trap mate. Non kill so you could raze the birds you catch. Thanks for the upload.

Now here a man who spends most of his time thinking outside of the box.  I especially appreciate you showing how your traps work by catching animals.  So many people show what they built and sometimes I wonder if that would even work, but you prove it.

Made my first one in under 30 minutes, and literally had a dove trapped in less than an hour from cutting the tree down for the materials. GREAT VIDEO... most effective bird snare I have seen.

i wonder if an ultimate trap can be mass produced at an affordable price.. you see so many of these co2 capsules for air rifles for example, perhaps a movement or pressure sensor..very interesting
