This update is frustrating. The iPad remains a powerful machine with a limited system.

Fernando let’s be honest, all of these features are iPhone iOS 18 as well. Nothing actually new for the iPad this time, what a joke of the M4 iPads.

I was very surprised that my iPad Pro 2 with the A10X processor was not supported, whereas my iPad 7 with the A10 processor is.

I really don’t think it was a decent upgrade. it was just the same features of IOs. They shouldn’t call this iPadOS anymore, should just return to just iOS, because that’s the truth!

One thing I have learnt over the years is that the big OS update for a new major redesigned iPad will happen the following year. Nothing really to take advantage of the M4 power in this update but it will come next year.

I’m shocked Apple didn’t hold off the Home Screen customization on iPad until iOS 19 like they did with widgets on iPad

Nothing changed for multi tasking mutli screens file management and unhandicaping apps. Basically you might as well get ipad air all the way now as the pro lineup has all the power you can never use.

I'm glad I waited to see what WWDC would show before buying the new iPad Pro M4. A calculator app. Yay?

iOS 18 is okay but I was underwhelmed with iPadOS 18. No updates to things that really matter: stage manager like you said and apps that could run in desktop view just like on MacBooks.
Apple is stubborn!
Again : even the new iPad Pros are not a laptop replacement which is a shame - why bothering to put an M4 chipset when you can’t take advantage of it?

The iPad needs:
• A TERMINAL.
• Desktop Level File Management.
••• Ability to use Apple Scripts on files.
••• “Open With” option for files.
••• Ability to add files to Home Screen.
••• Ability to Compile and Run code.
• Better Download/File Sharing Manager.
• Ability to make📞 calls for cellular versions.
• Desktop Level iWork Apps.
• Windows Tilting Like MacOS Sequoia.
• Multi-User Support.
• True Third-Party Mouse Support.
• Same Keyboard shortcuts as the Mac.
• FIX the Password Autocomplete feature.

I didn't like icon customization. It looks like high concentrated damaged screen. Apple already makes icon designs good.. I was expecting a much better stage manager and more of MacOS feeling.. I liked new AI features and calculator (Finally). Also I need a iPad Whatsapp app, yes natively

I was waiting for WWDC to decide if I should upgrade my 2018 iPad Pro. I was hoping for bigger announcements and more Mac-like features. I couldn’t care less about a calculator app.

I will just get a battery replacement on my old iPad 🐬

They need to make file management useful. That’s one of the main things that kills this for actual work use is saving files where I want them, not in app specific/hidden areas.

I'd like to add something about the iPad Pro M4. It is meant for those that do not have the M Series Chip.

You are going from a LCD to OLED, Huge Performance Boost and a well Rounded (Argueably the best) Tablet around.

iPadOS 18 is just meant to bring the iPad up to speed with the iPhone. All it did was focus more on the iPad as a tablet. The new Menu for iPad apps is arguably the biggest change, it will allow developers to take advantage of the screen real estate of the iPad.

Overall fantastic stuff that, let's be honest many of the customisation stuff should have been on Apple products years ago. But still, finally we have it which is great. The ability to hand write equations and have the ipad calculator give you answers and graphs is fantastic for students.
But I really wanted a lot more on the Files app, I wanted background upload/downloading and exporting. But the more I think about this, the more I believe some of these things we want would be M1 and up and mean 2020 ipads wouldn't get this, so I have a feeling we might get some of these in the next update, so people don't cry that there ipads didn't get any features and support.
As these features we want, let's be honest. 4-6gb ram isn't good enough. M1 ipads have 8gb ram. I believe Apple didn't add more background software due to this.

No improvements to stage manager and files. Sharing documents is still a pain.

In iPadOS 17.5.1 my apple pencil is stuck at 99% due to some reason. The battery gets discharged overnight even if its docked and the thing becomes really frustrating when you need it in university.

Any chance Apple secretly added 120hz external monitor support?

My only complaint with the graphing is that it can’t yet graph vertical lines (so x = something). Hopefully they add that
