I live in the U.S, more specifically the boonies of North Carolina, and i walk to the gym everyday. Mostly because my gym is in my detached garage, but I'd argue that's semantics lol

Same in Russia (I live in Russia) you don’t have to drive as often. I walk to the grocery store I walk to my barber shop I walk everywhere I walk to the mall. If something is to far I just take the bus. In America buses aren’t really a thing and everything just feels further away and harder to get to

I've been to the US a couple of times. I found that large amounts of the US is made up of large developments either residential or commercial, and very very rarely does the US zone in mixed use. In large cites, sure, everything is tightly packed in and you can walk from apartment to stores eg New York. But most of America is not fine that way. The result of this is that 90% of Americams have to drive to get anywhere. I'm not saying what's better or worse, just an observation...
