Lovely point of view about Spain, just one little thing: spanish tortilla is: potatoes, onion, eggs. NEVER, EVER, CHEESE!! :)

Well, como norteamericano viviendo en espanya, me siento totalmente seguro aqui Que alla, y mas, creo que soy espanyol y no Americano and this is due to the fact that Spain is very much safer than many other countries, the people are honest and kind, and the food is absolutely great.
At my age I reckon that I'll die here
I found my place on the planet

I'm half Spanish & live in England. Never lived in Spain my entire life, visited Spanish family almost every year as a child. So I've also been around loads of British tourists\ expats in Spain. The vast majority of Brits don't even bother learning and experiencing Spanish culture, they stick to their closed off communities, complain and slag off Spanish locals. They only bother learning a few words like "una cerveza por favor", then vote brexit but still expect to maintain their special privileges.
Then you have Americans like this lady putting them to Shame, happily expressing her experience of Spanish culture. The world needs more tourist like this lady.

Hi, Spanish omelette it's made with no cheese, sausage, chorizo or the like. it is made with eggs and potatos and maybe the biggest discussion is about with onion or not, and that's about your personal prefference.

Another fact about Spain is the quality of hotels. If you go to a hotel in Spain which has 2 stars (for example) in other country it would be a 4 stars hotel and viceversa. Our hotels are really high quality compared to others in Europe or other countries.

The New Year's Eve thing is funny, because usually in Spain we start partying AFTER midnight, as late as 1 am on the 1st of January, since we all spend dinner with our families (both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinner are super important traditions for us), watch the midnight "campanadas" (bells announcing the New Year) and had 12 grapes with each toll.. And then we start leaving our families to go party. I've been living in London for a few years now and on my first New Year's Eve I couldn't believe everyone was going back home at the time I had always started partying LOL It was quite a shock

In my home Santa Claus is totally forbidden. We tried one year to give the presents on Christmas day ... and it wasn't the same. We prefer the traditional 6th of January for that.

Spanish omelette is made with eggs, potatoes and onion. Not cheese.

Lo de la salchicha en la tortilla no lo había oído nunca, pero puedes meterle atún, bocas de mar y mahonesa

We have many different omelettes, with cheese, with jam or any thing else, but spanish omelet is only egg and potato or egg and onion and potato, not any more, never cheese...and here we don, t call spanish omelet, we cal potato omelet...this is the spanish omelet...the other omeletes are chesse omelet, jam omelet, tuna omelet...like that...many cains of omelette, but remember, spanish omelette is just potato and eggs and some time onions...with olibe oil...About presents, we celebrate the night of 24, that day papa noel or in bask country the olentzero bring presents...and after the 6 january again...Normally more strong about presents the 6 january, the 24 maybe just one...or something more small...and in 6 january many...
