Driving in Rain For Sleeping + Black Screen

Enjoy driving in rain for sleeping with AC sounds and a black screen as we ride into dreamland !

For this week's relaxing sleep video, we go on a mountain rain ride in this old school diesel Mercedes 300D. This video specifically combines three relaxing sleep sounds. The first is the low rumble, of the turbo diesel engine which becomes a distant background sound once we start the drive. The second is the calming, soft rain sounds dropping on the metal roof and windshield as we travel at about 40 MPH through the beginning of the Smokey Mountains. Lastly, the loudest sound of them all, is the whooshing white noise of the air conditioner as we turn it on the highest level, to stay cool during this summer rain ride.

Here is a short equipment list that we use to create all of these relaxing sleep videos which includes, but is not limited too the following. Multiple Go Pro's, A Nikon 7500, A Mavic Pro Drone, a trusty Tascam DR 100 MK3 for most of the audio recordings, a range of microphones including a Sure 57 for that nice low end sound. Years ago, I loved the sound of the hoover, washing machine on spin, tumble dryers, car heaters, hair dryers, air conditioning units and so on, I thought I was the only person in the world who liked noises like these to send me asleep, then I discovered Randall and all his followers, now I don't feel alone. Do you realize what a service you provide? The sound of your voice lets me know peace is coming -- which is so calming in itself but then to pair it with soothing sounds.... phenomenal. Anxiety accompanies the thought of sleep for some of us (insomnia, pain, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, etc.) So to approach sleep from a place of calm just from hearing your voice BC you know peaceful, sleep - friendly, sounds are coming is something I haven't felt in a long time and I'm so appreciative of that!!!! I saw a few negative comments on this video and I just wanted to say that you shouldn't pay any attention to them. You are doing more for people by helping them get to sleep at night then anything these haters are doing. I put on your videos every night because I have a really bad relationship with sleep. I always have. It scares me to go to sleep and lay there by myself, so for years I would just stay up. Your videos have changed the way I sleep and instead of getting a negative feeling when I think about going to sleep at night I now get a positive one. In a hotel room with my two young kids running from the second hurricane to hit the Lake Charles Louisiana area. At 4am they are fast asleep while I’m up worried and stressed. Unless you’ve driven one of these cars, a Mercedes In-line 5 Cylinder Diesel from the 70s-90s, you cannot understand just how hypnotizing they are. When you drive these cars, the engine produces a rhythmic, gentle vibration that is subtle enough not to startle but so gentle that it is like being lulled upon a raft in a lazy river. Falling asleep in the passenger seat of one of these cars is as close as I’ve been to flying on a magic carpet! Just absolutely hypnotic, especially at cruising speeds.

Randall, I found your videos last year, during a really, REALLY hard time in my life. I was struggling and kindness was nowhere around me. My mom died 3 years ago, and she was my everything. Putting my life back together without her guidance and pure love was spectacularly hard.

I slept under a roof that barely tolerated me, and then I put your videos on every night when I laid down under it. If not for you, and how obviously you care about us and what you do for us, I’d be in a different place. I’ve found a lot of videos like yours since I discovered the kookier genre of sleep sounds (thank goodness I did), but they all feel like cheats and rip offs of you and yours. They’re cold. Those videos don’t care about us. YOU do.

This year, I’m wanted and I’m all around goodness. I’m lying next to my sleeping son while your Mercedes takes us through the mountains. You make each night special and complete, and you make us feel cared about and loved.
