My father told me the story of a ‘loyal dog’ that waited for its deceased master at a train station for 10 years, when I was a young boy ~ 36 yrs ago ( in 1985). My father did not know the name of the dog. I always remembered the story because it touched a part of my heart which only such a beautiful & sad story could.

I found this movie by accident recently and watched it with my father yesterday (2021). My father loved it. It was a truly great bonding experience with my pop. To think, a dog, whose owner died almost a century ago, half a world away, could have such an emotional impact on my life and memories ... it’s unbelievable. It’s simply incredible. Love you Hachiko. You and your extreme loyalty is something, we humans, could and should learn from. 🙏🏼
